What is the Variable Chat Command System (VC system)?

The Variable Chat command system is Aenea's relatively new (as of the 1.69 patch) way of accessing and controlling certain functions and options. All commands get typed into the chat bar, usually in the Talk channel. Not all commands are available all the time, as some depend on certain magical items, classes, or options you have selected. The colored commands are what actually gets entered in-game.

Here's the basics of what it currently does:

Standard Commands:
vc help - in-game and can't remember how to input one of the VC commands? Just use this one. With it, you get:
- bless help
- - bless berry - turn a simple berry into a blessed healing fruit (druids)
- - bless vial - turn a vial of clean water into a vial of holy water (non-evil clerics and paladins)
- - bless water - turn a vial of clean water into a breakable vial of holy water (non-evil clerics and paladins)
- - bless water throwing - turn a vial of clean water into a breakable vial of holy water (shuriken) (non-evil clerics and paladins)
- - bless me - call upon your deity, asking for divine favor (everyone)

- fol help (These commands work if you are within 50 meters of your follower(s).)
- - fol backup - command followers to attack Selected target
- - fol call - call followers short distances to you
- - fol defend - command followers to attack the last enemy to attack you
- - fol follow - command followers to follow near you
- - fol halt - command followers to stop moving for 2 rounds.
- info help
- - info arena - if you've battled in the Bloodsand Pit, this lists your stats
- - info deaths - the number of times you have died so far
- - info god - get a reminder of which god or goddess is your patron deity
- - info kk - your current 'Kill Kount' of certain types of creatures (not all are counted)
- - info levels - quick list of your current classes and levels
- - info options - list your current optional settings
- - info piety - get your current piety score
- - info skills - get your current ranks in the Aenean background skills and tradeskills
- - info time - get the current in-game time, date, sun and moons status, time played, and time until reset
- - info title - your title (if you have been given one by a DM)
- - info whereall - get a list of current Player Character locations
- - info kk - get your current Kill Kount for certain types of creatures (not all are counted)
- - info xp - see the your current XP, amount needed to level, and XP Debt (which is in addition to what's needed for a level)

- - lang list - list the languages you can speak and understand
- - lang common - switch to speaking Common
- - lang lce - switch to speaking Celestial
- - lang ldr - switch to speaking Draconic
- - lang ldw - switch to speaking Dwarven

- - option collect - toggle automatic collection of some small items
- - option deathme - toggle announcements of your death to others
- - option deathother - toggle seeing death announcements of others
- - option fullharvest - toggle on to fully harvest food sources, off to harvest 1 food at a time

- ki focus - focus ki energy to create a single powerful shuriken (1/day, monk only)
- arrow focus x - focus magic energy to create a single magic arrow, either disrupting (d), knockdown (k), or silence (s) (1/day, arcane archer only)
- game help (if you have a bag of dice)
- - game makepot - creates a 'pot' which will hold bets
- - game bet x - takes x gold from you and adds it to the Selected pot
- - game countpot - count the gold in the Selected pot
- - game takepot - take all the gold from the Selected pot
- - game destpot - destroys the Selected pot if it is empty
- - game cheat - toggle 'cheating' on/off (uses Bluff and Pick Pocket skills)
- - game 1d6 - roll a 6-sided die
- - game 2d6 - roll 2 6-sided dice
- - game 3d6 - roll 3 6-sided dice
- - game 4d6 - roll 4 6-sided dice
- hod help (if wearing a hat of diguise)
- - hod list - lists all the apearance names available
- - hod return - return to normal appearance
- - hod xxxxxx - replace xxxxxx with a name from the list and you'll look like that creature
- horse help (if you have a horse, and all these require you to be dismounted)
- - horse name xxxxxx - replace xxxxxx to store a name for quickly renaming your horse after dismounting
- - horse name2 - change your horses name to the one you stored with the previous command
- - horse emptybags - empty your horse's saddlebags into your inventory and take the saddlebags (DO THIS BEFORE STABLING)
- - horse stable in - when at a proper stable, this will stable your horse if you have at least 100 gp to pay for food and space
- - horse stable out - when at the same stable as before, this will bring out your horse for you
- spectra hair x - replace x with a 0-175 number to change your hair color (if you have proper item - see here for info)
- spectra skin x - replace x with a 0-175 number to change your skincolor (if you have proper item - see here for info)
- spectra tat1 x - replace x with a 0-175 number to change your tattoo 1 color (if you have proper item - see here for info)
- spectra tat2 x - replace x with a 0-175 number to change your tattoo 2 color (if you have proper item - see here for info)
- spectra weapon xxxx - replace xxxx with the proper code to change your Selected weapon's aura (if you have spectra's aurashift powder)


Miscellaneous VC Commands (not listed in the "help" lists):
vc lang load - just learned a new language and it isn't showing? Try this command.
fdisc xxxxxx - select your preferred color of tenser's floating disc by replacing xxxxxx with blue, green, grey, red, orange, purple, yellow, or random (random is default)
dmhelp - Send out a quick request for attention from a DM.
password xxxxxx - Select a password protected door, then speak this command, replacing xxxxxx with the correct password.
tp recyclegloves - Copy information from gloves and gauntlets, then remove said items from inventory. May take a little while, since it runs in 10-glove loops with 5-second intervals
to cut back on server lag.
updateitem hoi - swap out an old style equipped headband of intellect for one of the new ones.

Teleportation Related Commands:
tp set 1 to tp set 25 (or tp set 50) - Set current location to a "slot" for the teleport spell.
tp clear 1 to tp clear 25 (or tp clear 50) - Empty out a "location slot".
tp listall - list contents of all your "location slots".
tp list1 - list contents of the 1st 25 "location slots".
tp list2 - list contents of the 2nd 25 "location slots".
tp x - Replace x with the number of one of your "location slots", the one to use when you cast teleport.
tp rename xxxxxx - replace xxxxxx with desired text for selected location slot
ally set 1 to ally set 12 (or ally set 25) - Set the currently Selected PC to one of your "Ally slots" for summon ally or magehound spells.
ally clear 1 to ally clear 12 (or ally clear 25) - Empty out an "ally slot".
ally list - List all allies you have attuned to your magic.
ally x - Replace x with the number of one of your "allyslots", the one to use when you cast summon ally or magehound spells.

Illusion Related Commands:
ill mon list - list monster appearances for the illusionary monster spell
ill mon x - select the desired monster for the next casting of the illusionary monster spell
ill obj list - list objects for the illusionary object spell
ill mon x - select the desired object for the next casting of the illusionary object spell
ill spl list - list spell effects for the illusionary spell spell
ill mon x - select the desired spell for the next casting of the illusionary spell spell

sc help - help file that can be used if you have started in a Semi-Class

Is the arena command "info area" now or "info arena"?

I was curious about the "pc tool mybio" command; does it add to what's already in your bio, or replace it?

Replaces. It also has a limit on how many characters it'll accept, and will only do a single paragraph, no line-breaks.
