Boots of the Wanderer Empty Boots of the Wanderer

Hey there, a short question. Eowarion saw those boots and thought "Oh my! Just what i need. And they are cheap as well!!!"
Since they showed up as usable i bought a pair of those, thinking that my UMD-skill would be high enough to use them. But alas...no way the poor bard can equip those...strictly restricted to clerics of..Gord?..or so. So, is there a UMD-check involved or will this boots be useless to him?

These rare and wondermous boots are above what UMD can muster, cause the gods say so. Or at least the DM.

And yes; it is a shame that UMD characters cannot 'pretend' to be followers of Gort. But I would luv for that to be implemented as a possibility as I have Epic Skill Focus: UMD for just such reasons. Smile

Even if you do worship Gort, UMD still won't let you equip them. He seems to take a pretty personal interest in those boots Razz

Those boots are the only permanent Haste item in the game. They are useable only by experienced priests of the god of travel. Smile There are certain things imitation (aka, Use Magic Device) just won't fool...like the gods.

But why not? Aargyle has a good... *wait for it*... sole. He is also well heeled, laced with ingenuity, and speaks many tongues. And like most Dwarves, he seldom gives up over meeting the agony of da feet!
