Elven Auto-Detect Mode Empty Elven Auto-Detect Mode

Is it possible for the auto-detect mode elves get to be added to a custom item, or is this purely a racial bonus? I'm slowly trying to discover all the hidden areas of Aenea but when in detect mode it is slow even with a lvl 20 monk!!

Mahaps this would be something for later addition to a new PC subrace?

I know we had celestials discussed at one point, I am sure there are ways to expand on existing subraces (not that we dont have a good number of choices now, but more is better).

Another option is to simply increase your search/spot skills via items, spells etc. That should balance out the penalties for out of detect mode.
