Job applications ... arrgh!
Hey, all!
I'm in the basement now, pulling out my hair as I try to compose a reasonable cover letter for a resume that will be going in the mail tomorrow. Naturally, as I think of the best way to sell myself, I am drawn to the firefox icon, which immediately brings me here. I've been reading up on this school for about an hour, and my back is stiff, stiff, stiff!
Does anyone else out there in Aenealand hate sending out resumes as much as me? Well, back to the grind (or another distraction )...

Indeed. Why must we work, anyways? Why can't we get paid to sit in our unders and play online all day?

I hear there's people who farm for WoW and make money off it.
Although getting paid to play would make it work and then that'd suck.

As sucky as the application process is, I actually find interviewing even worse. No hiding behind the CV then.

Re: Job applications ... arrgh!
Job hunting in general simply blows.
As for video games as a vocation, yeah that would be sweet.
And on the WoW thing, its really not that bad. I have had a lot of fun with WoW, and only a handful of negative experiences. For the game to be as popular as it is, they have to be doing at least some things right, after all, people are paying to play it.

They only provide money for a service that satisfies their needs/desires. As lasombra said, its relative to each individual. The point being that in the online gaming world, WoW dominates the market, and that popularity means that the service they are providing is meeting the needs of that large group of consumers well enough that they continue to provide money in exchange. Hence, they must be doing something right. Paid entertainment services dont become that popular because they suck. Quite the contrary in fact.

So is that like... similar to the difference between D&D 3.0 and D&D 3.5?

Sounds like it's about time someone starts a few new threads:
"Life, D&D, and Women"
"Life, D&D, and Men"
"Life, D&D, and Children"
Each one could include descriptions of ways women, men, and children are like creatures in D&D (with spells, special abilities), along with perhaps D&D ways to try to deal with such "encounters", "traps", "quests", and "boss monsters". Just keep it non-offensive, and we could have some fun.

Re: Job applications ... arrgh!
That was a little provocative reading back on it.
Whilst I acknowledge the innate ability (almost God given) of young girls, especially in the school of sonic based effects, I have observed and can personally vouch for the ability of young boys (mine is called a Kian) to inflict quite remarkable criticals. Whilst the impacts of general melee are not particularly significant, upon a 20 they can have you folded up on the ground. I can only speculate as to the multiplier, though I suspect they would be the envy of many a weponmaster.

Well, it's almost at teh end of June, and no word. Methinks I laid it on too thick with that last resume I sent out. Oh, well ... someday I'll get it right!
In the meanwhiles, I be gearing up to complete an application for another job, this one aimed at customer service (since that's what I do best right now, servicing the customer!). Potential looks good, so we're gonna cross these fingers and go to the appropriate application page as soon as I stop typing here....
Wish me luck!
