I think we broke it!

Feron and Lucky were caught in an epic struggle to free themselves from inside a purple worm, (that Amerillie had already killed, by the way).
We were hitting it for as much as 150 pts per turn. We must have hit it 150 times.
Lucky used word of recall, and then she was unable to walk into the Vale from the elf grove.
Strangely, just before all of this happened, a new player, (I forget what his name is, sorry:) pm'd me and asked why the trolls wouldnt die. Amarillie and I discussed the fact that we both thought that Trolls were immortal when we were 4th level, and suggested that he run away.
He thought it was a glitch, but we just thought, "Low level character + troll= tough haul."
Might have been wrong.
Then all of us were summarily booted off the server, and my aenean window cannot find the server.
Whats up?

Yup, sounds like server wonkiness! Seriously, though, it looks like it's online now ... perhaps you were caught in a reset, or your crazy worm-killing upset it ...

Both the worm and trolls use scripts to figure out when you actually "kill" them. If the server was lagging out and crashed, what might have been happening was on your end, you were dishing out the required damage (to the worm, and the right amount of acid/fire for the new player to the troll), but that info wasn't getting through to the server, and the server wasn't sending back the info "Ok, baddies are dead now".

UPDATE:
Thanks for the quick response and the great input, guys, however
Eeeriegeek pointed out that all of this stuff happened just prior to the server reset, (which is why we were bounced), (and that occurs at 10pm my time every night), and that the worm has been actin a fool for awhile now.
He reiterated that at level 4, going up against a troll is just a bad idea, *grins*. The new guy just hasnt got the, well, what, strength to successfully compete with a troll yet.
So...looks like it had more to do with a number of co incidents rather than anything wrong with the server...All is well in mudville.
