Self-Promotion Thread

Post by The Amethyst Dragon on Sun Oct 10, 2010 11:31 pm

Hi folks. Just posting a little shameless self-promotion for those builders, players, or visitors that haven't been involved with NWN for very long. There are some of us that have been making things available for others to use for quite some time, and I really think that custom content is one of the things that helps to keep this game going more than 8 years after it was released. This particular post contains links to NWN content I've made available over the last few years.

The Amethyst Dragon's Shameless Self-Promotion:

The World of Aenea PW - This is the big one. My persistent world, which has been online for over four years now, and the reason I've taught myself to build, script, and model for NWN. 99.9% of what I make is for Aenea's players, and everything publicly released is only a sample of what has been made for them.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Gameworld.Detail&id=945

Shaun - A NPC concept (rather than a file), submitted after an article by BeyondThePale looking for such submissions.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Characters.Detail&id=1424

D&D Classic Elementals - An override for turning the default NWN air, earth, fire, and water elementals into forms more like I've always envisioned from my pen and paper D&D days. These guys will be going into the CEP in the future.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Creatures.Detail&id=662

Tenser's Floating Disc - Creature models and some code for bringing the classic spell into NWN for those hard-working mages.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Creatures.Detail&id=615

1,220,376 New Wands! (wand icon parts) - This package of inventory icon parts adds an incredible amount of possibilities for designing magic wands.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=7586

1,243,304 New Rods! (rod icon parts)
- This packages does for magical rods what the previous one does for magic wands.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=7610

Improved Shuriken - For those that prefer a little subtlety, this shrinks down the massively oversized shuriken models, plus adds quite a few more models and icons.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=7783

Mops - Made in response to a question here on the BioWare boards, this little addition provides peasants and innkeepers something to use for cleaning up after adventurers.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=7969

Cloaks - This package includes some of the custom cloaks I've made for Aenea. These cloaks are included in the CEP.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=7389

Potion Bottles - This adds 77 brand new potion bottle icon parts, so that you can have something besides the default ones. This one is included in the CEP.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=5349

VFX Quivers & Arrows - Designed for builders, this includes visual effects models that can be used to add non-armor-based quivers and arrows to PCs. In my PW, PCs pick a quiver color and the module will automatically add arrows with a color based on the type of arrows equipped.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=7909

Mythallar Crystals - This adds 112 new glowing "mythallar" crystal placeables, expanding on the 1 provided by BioWare. These are included in the latest version of the CEP.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=7872

Snowball Override - Transforms the humble dart model and base icon into a snowball for winter fun. Since this is an override, only the players that have it installed will see the snowball, while others still see the original dart. You can see it in action in the Snowball Fight! (demo module).
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Models.Detail&id=454

Roofs / Ceilings for Gestalt's Caverns (Add-On)
- For builders and players using Gestalt's Caverns pack (which adds lava and pit terrains to the basic mines tileset), this adds the ceilings from nwroofer's hak.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=7920

Flowing Liquids v1.1 - Based on a proof of concept by gaoneg, this provides two additional (slower) speeds of flowing water, then adds versions for green flowing slime and flowing black for using over glowing lava.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=7407

Ioun Stones in Aenea - This short video shows what happens with some modifications to models made by BigfootNZ, followed by scripting and conversation editing.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Movies.Detail&id=608

Hat of Disguise v2 - This prefab includes both an item and the scripting needed to bring the classic D&D item into your game. Also available is the old version that doesn't use the 1.69 patch's OnChat capability like version 2 does.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Prefabs.Detail&id=711

Wizard's Familiar - This very basic prefab comes from the days when I'd just started scripting. It's a dagger that becomes more powerful as the wizard using it does.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Prefabs.Detail&id=594

Cloak Exchanger / Updater for 1.68 - Probably no longer needed, this simply allows a PC the swap out a cloak for a new copy right from the game palette.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Prefabs.Detail&id=887

Clerical Spell Limitations Script
- This really basic script can be used to limit certain cleric spells to use by followers of a specific deity. This used to be used in my PW to limit heal to clerics of the goddess of healing and harm to clerics of the god of destruction.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Scripts.Detail&id=2408

Glacius - A portrait designed to represent an ice-based wizard.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Portraits.Detail&id=5570

Ridley - A simple portrait, because I needed a generic fighter with a glowing green sword.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Portraits.Detail&id=5571

Snowball Fight!- A screenshot of a scene that popped into my head as soon as BeyondThePale announced a winter theme screenshotshot contest. I used my snowball override and snowball fight demo module, watched invisibly in DM mode, then took a lot of screenshots until I got throwers in different positions. The only editing involved cropping to remove some empty sky and snow at the top and bottom.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Screenshots.Detail&id=445

The Wanderer's Portal - A few screenshots showing the redesign of the ancient portals scattered across Aenea.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Screenshots.Detail&id=470

World of Aenea Transparent Unabtrusive GUI Overhaul/Upgrade - The override overhauls the game's GUI to make various windows transparent and add a little color to the game. And yes, I know I'm not the world's best speller, but I'm not going to change the title after so long. It does contain a world-specific NWN loading screen, but that is easily removed by those that desire it (it's the "loadlegal" files).
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Other.Detail&id=1236

Feat & Ability Icons: Colorized - Colorizes feat and ability icons that any PC might activate (or add to the quickbar).
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Other.Detail&id=1083

Radial Icons: Colorized
- Colorizes the various radial menu icons.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Other.Detail&id=1230

Class Icons: Colorized - Colorizes the class icons.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Other.Detail&id=1078

1.69 Icons: Colorized - Colorizes the icons added with the 1.69 patch.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Other.Detail&id=1322

Emote Icons for NWN 1.69
- Alters the emote icons, adding a picture and description to replace the default brown "star". No more mousing over an emote icon just to see which one it is.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Other.Detail&id=1318

Dungeon Master Icons: Colorized
- Colorizes DM client specific icons. I didn't want my fellow DMs to feel left out.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Other.Detail&id=1227

Spell Icons: Colorized - Colorizes all the default spell icons, making them much easier to use in-game.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Other.Detail&id=1020

Complete GUI Alterations Package (Transparent and Colorized) - Combines all the previous GUI changes into a single download for ease of use.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Other.Detail&id=1433

Red Green Hitpoint Status Change - Made in response to a posting on the older NWN BioWare boards, this alters the hitpoint status bar color of the GUI for those with certain color blindness so that it doesn't use red or green (or the brown that's a mix of the two).
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Other.Detail&id=1441

Spell Icons: Colorized: Generation 2 - After 5 years, it was time for an upgrade to the colorized spell icons. I think this does the trick. Better coloration and some icons have been altered to better reflect their effects in-game (such as fireball and horrid wilting).
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Other.Detail&id=1450

Scroll Icons: Colorized (Generation 2) - This is based off the new colorized spell icons, making scrolls much more visually distinctive while in inventory or on the quickbar.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Textures.Detail&id=133

Magic Staff Overhaul - In-game screenshots of Aeneas improved magical staff models.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Screenshots.Detail&id=479

Alternative Ki Strike VFX Overrides
- This set of models can be used to change the color of the visual effect that appears when a monk uses his or her Ki Strike in unarmed combat.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Other.Detail&id=1476

Evil Snowman - A playful winter sculpture gone horribly wrong, this creature model can even wield weapons.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Creatures.Detail&id=667

Kill Kounting Book - This book is an item that records the names and numbers of the creatures you kill while carrying it.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Scripts.Detail&id=3784

Topiary Guardians - Living plant creatures that can move about and eat people.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Creatures.Detail&id=673

New Weapon Visual Effects (VFX) - NWNCX - 44 brand new weapon visuals for those using NWNCX (the Neverwinter Nights Client Extender)
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Models.Detail&id=477

Flesh Golem 2.0 - An updated, non-overriding model for the flesh golem, with a more cadaverous appearance, glowing eyes, and tubes of glowing fluid embedded in every limb.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Creatures.Detail&id=683

Reforged: Chain Weapons - Brand new models and icons for light flails, heavy flails, and morningstars, made to replace the lower-quality default ones. Comes in both override and hak versions.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Models.Detail&id=481

Faerie Stones - 8 new gem icons with matching 3D models, which when placed on the ground float a little and emit colored light.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=8117

Pixel Sword - A humor item, inspired by a post on the BioWare social forums. It's a sword made of blocks of color to look like an old-school pixel-based sword.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=46783&id=8118

Reforged: Chopping Weapons - All new models and icons for hand axes, battle axes, dwarven waraxes, throwing axes, greataxes, and double axes. Both override and hak versions available.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Models.Detail&id=482

The Amethyst Dragon's Merchant Signs - Brand new hanging merchant sign (shingle) models, made to either be used on their own or as an easy replacement for the old ones found in the CEP.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=8126

For those wondering...yes, there is more that I plan on eventually publicly releasing. Usually Aenea's players get to use things for a while before it get's released to the community in general.
