AD's Test Lab: Fire Whip

Working on a little something for the Custom Content Challenge over at the BioWare forum. This will be added to the Aenea with the next hak update.

Ok, now this beggars the question, will other whips be forthcoming? Ice, Lightning, etc?

Almost makes me want to take Exotic Weapons feat again. (Ramana used to have a whip of fire, made her so baad, lol.) Fortunately I do have an item that grants the feat! Can't wait!

Thanks, folks. I like the whip, too. It turned out right away pretty much how I envisioned it.

Nope. Lining up the emitters for the fire one was a pain in the posterior. And I don't think the others would look anywhere near as good as a whip. The lightning in particular would look bad...ever notice how choppy it looks on a big sword when running? That's with just a single bolt. The whip would be 8 tiny bolts.

A different coloured fire... or maybe something from the NWNCX weapon expansion.... I think you could "fake" the other elements just by changing the colours of the fire one..... Everyone will still associate the "green whip" with being acidic for example...

I was thinking along those lines, maybe taking it up to spectra's place when I find it in-game ... now that beggars another question - will this item be easily found, like say in a merchant's stock, or will it be not easily found, like a baddie's weapon drop? Personally, I would lean towards the merchant scenario ...

It'll be a loot drop. I'm planning on giving them to some enemies in a new area, and more powerful versions to some new demons in the Dark Realm. Such creatures won't always drop one, but a few will sometime end up lootable.
