Sleeplessness...
So, I just had an interesting weekend. About 41 hours...no sleep. I've done 36 once before, but that was in college (all night D&D session!) and didn't require doing things like...driving.
Had to get up at my normal time on Friday morning to take the older kids to school (6:45am), after about 4 1/2 hours of sleep (normal for me). Had a normal day, then started in on a project as a birthday gift for my niece...she turned 2 on Saturday. That gift was 5 dozen cupcakes...baked and custom decorated. Just had to be Yo Gabba Gabba...the theme for the party and a show she's evidently obsessed with.
About 12 hours later (7:20 am Saturday), I finally finished. Lots baking, lots of buttercream frosting, even more time cutting and placing small pieces of fondant, piping small details, and finally boxing them up.
8:10 am, get the kids and wife out the door since we went to "breakfast with Santa"...pancakes, bacon, juice, and a picture with the bug guy.
Then back home, sit for 5 minutes, and get stuff packed up to drive all the way up to Scottsdale for the party, which started at 11:20 am.
Left the party, got home around 2 pm. Cleaned the house, since the in-laws were coming over to watch the kids for a while. Lots of dishes later (from dinner the night before (I was baking, didn't have time to wash), and lots more from baking/decorating), and it's an hour past when the wife and I had to leave to attend a holiday party at her boss' house...way up in Scottdale (just a few miles from where we'd been before).
That finally wrapped up and we managed to get home around 10:30 pm. Older kids had to come up to say hi. Had to chat with the in-laws for a bit. Finally managed to stumble into bed around midnight.
Probably a good thing that I stopped drinking caffeine about a month ago...it was more effective when I had to drink it to drive the 40-60 minutes each way to/from Scottdale.
Slept about 10 hours, and I've still been tired all day today. Couldn't take a nap...too much to do with 4 kids in the house. Now it's after 11 pm, and I've got some time to mess around on the computer (after sitting and watching a movie with the wife).

Huh! Who knew Spoilers were high in calories?!! Most excellent!
Now; what is a Yo Gabba Gabba, and does it matter for a child that will likely have more on them than in them?

Re: Sleeplessness...
It's a show for little ones on Nick Jr. Little lessons in social behavior (like "don't bite your friends"), some song and dance, celebrities dropping in for the dance part (Elijah Wood, Jack Black...those are the two I remember from my kids watching). Lots of bright colors.
Overall, a good show for little ones when a parent just needs a couple of minutes of peace.

I recall visiting friends and their infant made the way to the remote, and began watching a favorite video on VHS. Kids never cease to amaze me.
