Aenean Artifcacts

The following are excerpts from a booked labeld "Aenean Artifacts", which you find on this particular bookshelf you're perusing...:

...And it's through adventures such as those that I've come to know the lore and the folklore of Aenea. My tale is certainly not unique either. In such a world, many have risen up to face adversity, to triumph over their troubles. Some have become great heroes, some great villains, some, a mixture of both. All of them holding great fame, their names synonymous with accomplishment and prestige.

And as is with many legends of the past, those forging today the legends of tomorrow often carry with them some item of note, be it a sword, or a magical rod, or a suit of armor; trappings that often become linked eternally to the name of the hero who wielded the item. These artifacts are as diverse as the heroes that possessed them. Some granted by the divine or infernal gods, some magical artifices of arch mages, and yet still... some simple objects, inexplicably imbued with the aura and personality of the hero.

The following pages attempt to preserve for history, a footnote in the adventures of such heroes; bits of lore collected over time of the artifacts wielded by our modern day heroes, the legends of tomorrow, both great and small, in hopes that the scholars of tomorrow may have better insight into the world we forged for them.

The Walking-Stick of the Wanderer is a curious artifact. It's said that once it's current owner settles down, stops walking the roads and trails, the walking-stick somehow finds it's way to another traveller. With each new traveller, the walking stick changes slightly, to match it's owner. An Sylvan folk tale tells of a priest of Gort who carried a walking stick trimmed with strings of elvish prayer beads, while an ancient Calithian tale tells of a trader who would always manage to lead a caravan through the deserts, no matter the season, no matter the weather. And always carrying with him a walking stick decorated with feathers and gold coins strung along fine platinum chains. The only consistent description of the staff however was the symbol of a horseshoe, and that it's possessor always seemed to be on the move, traveling from here to there.

Rancid Flesh is a possession of a demonspawn dwarf of questionable sanity who would not easily divulge the origins of such an obscene item, and in retrospect, some things may be better left unknown.

Few accounts of such armor can be found. And those that can, are mostly in the footnotes of the histories dealing with the fall of empires, kingdoms, temples or even small townships. One such tale deals with the fall of Tesh to the Orcs; months before the Orcs stormed the gates of Tesh, there were mention in a court scribe's notes of a Drow emissary supposedly offering the rulers of Tesh information on the Orcish warbands. This drow, clad in dark polished armor matching the general description of an Aegis of the Cabal, had great access to many parts of the city. A note in the scribe's papers mentioned that a particular bodyguard of the Drow emissary, always clad in a closed helm and heavy cloaks, spoke only once in the entire visit. And while the speech was delivered in perfect common speech, the scribe noted a slight guttural accent which he could not discern... and never made mention of to the rulers or anyone of consequence.

That was my guess too, but because I saw Manny and Eric had *both* used the same frame type format, I thought there might be some publically available resource out there.

I eventually plan to follow suit, and get some info about Crid's gear up. I wanted to figure out how this wasdone in case it would be helpful for when I do so...

The "frame" they used is part of the Ravenloft gui, available somewhere on the Vault.

Yep. I've been using the ravenloft gui myself since Halloween when I first started really getting into playing Angelica Smile

My current gui though is a mishmash of aenea/ravenloft, mostly due to I haven't felt the urge to clean out my override and go back to just the straight aenea gui.

Yeah ditto for me with the GUI... its all aenean transparent-cy, with Ravenloft borders, and some Arvale buttons and backdrops, but mostly NWN scrollbars, .... I've further enhanced this with all of Aenea's GUI inventory icons, radials, emote's, coloured feat, ability and spell icons.... also I use a mash of Aenea and Enhanced skill and class icons, and have the coloured scrolls too!!...
I have the improved domain icons too..... ...

However the Aenea haks naturally overwrite some of the visual/icon changes... but for the most part my SP and Aenea GUI looks the same.... it took a lot of work merging 3 different GUI's into something I like.. but I think it was worth it....

These unique belts are a rarity. They are crafted by various tribes of humanoids who have a fondness for wolves.
Before Rick Sanneset's tribe died out, they had many belts made, but thos may be the only one left...

While not an artifact, this is Rick's self-echanted armor.
Anyone could make a better armor, but since this is Rick's first metal armor, it is also his ONLY metal armor.
Driuds just don't normally wear metal...

open them up... ( I used to use apple quicktime - before dl'ing Gimp).. select copy (or copy all).. paste into MS paint.. save as a bmp/jpeg...

Use the picture link and browse for your picture... select upload (this uses servimg to host the picture over the internet for you).. copy the link they give you for the image (either thumbnail or full).... paste the link into the forum box.. and send your message... (it helps to preview your message first- to check that it's worked okay)..... that should be okay... alternatively send your screenshots to MannyJabrielle ( via email) (I'm sure if you PM him he'll let you know if he still takes requests like this, and give you his email).... .... ....

Necro'ing this thread back to life. I'll put some of Fren's items up.

How are folks able to get paragraph's in the item descriptions? I assume only through the toolset? I can't for the life of me get it to work using the VC ';;tool itemdesc' command.

around 900k +..... it was every custom item token rolled into one and then has had further upgrades in-game with the "standard crystals and 50BoM" and dwarf modifications..... and I think it has had more upgrades since this post was made.... namely without it Shouri would not be herself.... .. ...

Indeed, odbo255, these items were created through the toolset, and thusly subject to the lyrical whims of anyone crazy enough to spend a few minutes hobbling together a custom item! I may repost mine, as many have changed, and I have added several more to the collection. Time shall tell, though.
