Poll: File Download Options

I'm sitting here looking at the big list of files available for download from the Vault for playing on Aenea, and it looks really long and jumbled.

What do you think of the options above? Cast your vote and post your feedback.

I've gone for playerpack + updates.... it may take longer to download the bigger files.. but it's all there... no chances to miss a hak, or get confused in the long list... I can see it however being irritating to people still on dial-up for such large files, even more so if they get corrupted along the way....

But the idea of clicking download and going to bed, is still better for me then choosing 8 different smaller downloads and doing some micro-management... ...

The other thing that messes that up is all the different types (.zip, .rar and .7z).. most zip and rar programs can now open both types regardless of the one they specialise in... and 7z open theirselfs but can be tricky... ....

It would still be good to see only three downloads though... Packup, tlk and update... much more streamlined, efficent and less confusing... the sept/dec/bridge haks can be confusing too... maybe that should be Feb09, updates,tlk.... and when the update gets too big to be called a quickfix update the whole thing should change, to say Nov09pack(includes old update), update(now empty), tlk... .... no player bridges etc ....

For those who have the old update a message should go out to just simply rename that update, say, Aeneahak_s, to save re-downloading everything again... hmm not sure on that idea...

But deffinately less downloads is better... even if they are bigger....

It appears that having few files to download is much more popular.

I think I'll make that change in the near future.

And...done. Now only 3 files to download to be online and up to date. Two options for the biggest one (.7z or .rar).

Oh, and updated the updates hak today.
