With the trade-road overrun with rabid mice and dire rats now, Fenar spends more time on vermin control than selling housing contracts... and over time, she gets nicked and nibbled to death. Perhaps set her to be invulnerable, or otherwise make her not chase after rats?

Yeah a few more NPC's could also use suggested invulnerability... such as the powerful strikes seller, farmer joe and the hooded being....

No, I just want him to be there when I go to kill to kill him... and not find a mouse-nibbled corpse.... lol... mybe they ain't mice tooth marks as it is, maybe they be from some depraved drow.... lol....

Pheraps just setting a wider buffer zone between the NPCs and the monster-spawns in the area. With Firehair, the mice and rats spawn within her sight, and she goes after them. With Joe, it's usually PCs run through, spawn ogres which follow the PCs, and thus come itno Joe and the sword merchant's view... that, or the horse goes after the cindermice and Joe goes to join in

I have an idea if it would be listened too.

1: Farmer Joe is a level 1 commoner it seems. Increase his level as a commoner to level 4 or 5, so he has about 12 hp, but is still helpless. Same with the dwarf near farmer Joe, improve his level by 2 or 3. This will allow them to survive attacks briefly if defended by a player (as with the ogres and such in their area).

2: Fenar Firehair does not respawn. Make her respawn. Also give her about 3 levels of both fighter and commoner and place her further from the spawnpoint for monsters. This will solve the issues with her dieing alot as well as make her more likely to talk with players in the area.

3: Make animals like Horses and Livestock neutral or commoner faction characters, this will make them alot less likely to run off and attack/defend enemies/allies.

4: Last but not least, give characters that are NPCs that have commoner levels in dangerous areas a Regen/1 item that won't drop when they die. This will allow them to heal when any combat and such is over and they survive. This means that Players won't have to constantly heal them (like me).

Farmer Joe: gave him 6 extra levels in commoner for added HP

Fanar Firehair: will now respawn properly

NPC survival: All NPCs will gain slow regeneration (1 hit point per game hour). Not enough to save them in a battle, but enough to bring them back to full health over time without PC/DM intervention.
