Tradeskill: Gemcutting Empty Tradeskill: Gemcutting

Gemcutting is used when a Player Character (PC) wants to do something useful to those uncut gemstones that turn up every once in a while.

Tool Needed: Gemcutter's Tools
Material Needed: Uncut Gemstone

Use the tools on a single uncut gemstone in your inventory. A d100 (%) skill check is made against a difficulty based on the type of uncut stone. If successful, the uncut gemstone is replaced with a proper gemstone. If unsuccessful, the uncut stone is simply destroyed.

As this skill is used, you may improve in it. On a successful skill use, there is a 10% chance you will gain a +1% improvement. This can build up to a +100% over time.

Tip: Leave uncut gemstones unstacked. This will use up more inventory space, but make gemcutting easier later, since you'll have to split stacks of such rocks before cutting anyway.

Tip: There is no need to identify an uncut gemstone before using this tool. This should save a little bit of time for the rock hounds out there.
