Re: The Sleeping Dragon
Me too. Thanks!
The redesign started when I finally got around to flexing my gmax (3d model making) skills enough to make the fireplace. It just didn't fit with the original tileset (too many chairs and tables built in), so I decided to play with the new interior tileset I was already including in the update. It's bigger inside than before, but I like having the ceiling, multiple levels, and stage. Looks more "rustic" too.
That fireplace was the centerpiece of the original Sleeping Dragon Inn in my pen and paper D&D game. A green marble statue of sleeping dragon, with a fireplace carved into its side.

Re: The Sleeping Dragon
Very nice work . The load screens are a bit strange sometimes, those may need to be specified to fix the issue.

Re: The Sleeping Dragon
The inside is absolutely astonishing. On a scale of 1-10, it's a 25.
the outside however... as of the current moment I cannot exactly ... comment on...

Re: The Sleeping Dragon
For the next reset, I've set the loadscreen to a non-random one. Eventually I'm going to make one from a screenshot taken inside the inn.
Re: The Sleeping Dragon
I like the new layout inside.... I think the dragon fireplace should be more "central" though.. at the moment it looks like it's kinda "shoved in the corner".... .... maybe it should be more where the stage is... but if it's more close to the PnP DnD Aenea then that can only be good... and it looks brilliant.....
However the outside.. The building looks really cool... but where's the dragon sculpture ?... I really liked that with the last one, how the wings and head etc were "carved into the building"..... I think we need this feature back...

I got that impression with the fireplace as well. Kinda miss the red-curved bench setup as well. The fireplace itself looks awesome though. Great job

Re: The Sleeping Dragon
Room scales change a lot between PnP D&D and NWN. The original inn was not particularly large...the new NWN incarnation has been expanded, and the fireplace left in the corner so the tail doesn't trip everyone. We'll have to see how traffic flow works for a while...I might still move it around a bit.RustyDios wrote:I like the new layout inside.... The dragon statue outside was there just so there'd be some association of a dragon statue with the inn, back before I had any model making experience. It definitely wasn't sleeping. With the addition of the real fireplace, the one outside was laid to rest.
I could always add the red couches again, but elsewhere in the inn. I wanted there to be a few more available seats for PCs...the old couches only allowed four at a time to sit near the fireplace.MannyJabrielle wrote:I got that impression with the fireplace as

Re: The Sleeping Dragon
You could use that trick I used with the couch in Alastair's home. I set the couch itself as a static, and then placed 'invisible chair' objects where I wanted a PC to sit down on the static.
