Used: Cold Weather and Cloaks

I learned early on from another player that I needed a cloak to avoid cold damage when outside at certain times, so I was lucky.

I have had a couple of players ask me about why they were taking cold damage and had ability penalties.
Of course, I was able to explain and help them... but there isn't always somebody online to make this clear.

I think if memory serves correctly, that the trigger that imposes the penalties and damage does also inform the player of the reason for the condition... but I seem to recall this not being 100% of the time.

I just wanted to suggest some way of making this abundantly obvious... maybe an NPC outside the Sleeping Dragon who says something to the effect of "Hey there, what are you doing out in the cold with no cloak on? You're liable to catch your death of cold! Head over to Smitty's shop over yonder, and get yourself a cover!"

This could be chatted the first time a player takes cold damage, but not thereafter... or something like that...

Would the NPC get a kickback from Smitty? Kinda like one of those guys in the burger suits!

Maybe even a general in-game reference manual of sorts for the various house-rules and such.

A library in Valorian's Vale, perhaps? Not only with tomes of rules and reference, but other things as well!

I believe I made a suggestion for a library early on - perhaps this is a good time to resurrect that idea!

That "quest" entry did the trick twice over!

I don't remember when I added it, but this suggestions was used, in a way. The first time you get hit with winter cold without a cloak, you get a message saying something warm over the shoulders would help.
