Minor Event: 2/21/10

I'm going to be running short (about 1 hour) event in-game this coming Sunday (2/21) at around 2 pm my time (4 pm EST, 9 pm GMT).

If you want to participate, I suggest logging in as one of your long-established characters...someone other players will recognize the name or appearance of.

Prep hints:

- prepare for a mix of ranged and close-up battle
- prepare magic that doesn't involve teleportation or flight to get around obstacles
- there may be teamwork involved to finish the task properly

Sunday Sunday SUNDAAAA--erm, I mean, does 'long-established character' necessarily translate to 'really high level character'? Just curious.

Looks like this coming weekend's gonna be quite eventful.

Might bring out Derfel for this one, if I can get on and get used to his new build a bit. Elseways I'll probably bring Kasigi.

Sing-n-swing, Derfel, Swing-n-sing.

Or bash-n-blare if you're using a bludgeoning weapon... or poke-n-prattle if you're using a peircing weapon

What build did you end up going with?

Fighter/Bard/Shadowdancer.

Complete with UMD and Epic Dodge.

I would recommend your highest level character OR one that works best with others as a team.

If I can get there, it will likely be either Jay or Val... I'm still not 100% up to speed with walking a mage into a mass (DM controlled) battle... my spell preping kinda sucks, it's good enough to "get-by" in normal Aenea, but for a DM event.... I think I best use my main melee-ers.... .. hope to see you there...

Looks like everyone enjoyed the little "event". The orcs and their constructs were stopped before they destroyed Tradeholm, and the brave adventurers were "rewarded" at the end.

I might leave the script I used in place for a while, so that if there's a big group that wants a repeat of the "end scene" of this one sometime, it can be done.

I believe was awarded 9000 interwebs for his 'ending'... as well as some choice appelations and even a threat or two from the 'winners'.

In the end, I dont think anybody would argue it was an incredibly original idea, and completely unexpected.
