Some minor tweaks to the arena....

The spectator area... could use a "greater sanctuary" effect. While the monsters can't reach characters up on the ledge, they can see them still and can sometiems try to go eat the spectators instead of the PCs *in* the pit hitting them with swords and stuff. Greater sanctuary would be the best as true-seeing enemies would see through an invisibility effect.

The spectator area could also use some tighter "can't kill the spectators" immunties. One spectator tonight was being killed several times by wails, and other AoE's tossed up by caster baddies into the spectator zone.

And one final "atmospheric" tweak.... perhaps some NPC spectators? Not actual spectators though... there is (or at least was last time I poked around in the toolset) "placables" that looked like NPCs. A few around the pit would add a little touch of grandeur perhaps Smile

Another minor thing while at it,

As a spectator, it can sometimes be quite hard to get a 'perfect' or just 'decent' view of what happens in the arena when someone fights. Maybe a bit of tweaking could 'optimize' the front-row seats so the audience doesnt have to move back and forth to get a good view of what is happening? cheers

It mainly has to do with Line of Sight issues/ things fading in and out of view.

Heh, yeah... that's the main reason for the arena redesign. The previous design had a pit so large spectators could see a little less than halfway into the pit, and if others wanted to watch a fight, they had to actually be in the pit itself with the combatants.

Unfortunately, it can't really get much smaller without drastically cutting the actual play space for the fights.

Something indirectly from the sunglory event, the dm needs a large beholder eyeball, to aim at some people and cause that wonderful 100% complete spell failure.. god, I never knew I would one day I would praise that large eyeball..... ...

On a more serious note, can the pit office door be lockable during an Tornament and and the area teleblocked ?.. With a notice that a game is currently underway and thus further combatants must wait outside... whilst not game-breaking or a serious issue, during a round break Aseph and Myself were discussing our next rounds tactics and we had a gatecrasher that spoiled the immersion slightly... fortunately for us it was an experienced player that understood what was happening and politely left to watch from the stands and await his turn, however this may not always be the case..... .... ...

Also .. was there a way DM's can add "Titles" to a PC ?... For viewing with the ;;info title command ?... If not, could we have one made ?.. So that the victors of the games can have it added... ...

Yes, there's a way for DMs to add titles. I just wasn't gonna muck around looking for the command 6 or so hours into that event :-p

In DM mode, it IS possible to force-lock doors. I actually considered making suggestion about that with changing the two doors in the pit itself from "cave" entrances to actual doors (so I could lock the door PCs came out of, and they'd have to fight across the pit to the other door to get out of the pit).

Not sure teleportblocking off the pitmaster's office would be a good idea though, even temporarily. A few people have teleport markers set in the office, so blocking them from popping in and making them take another route would be a bit annoying... and in a guantlet run, I try to spawn in the baddies as fast as possible so there's really only a few moments spent in the office for the contestants.
