Factions (Police brutality, yo!) Empty Factions (Police brutality, yo!)

There still seem to be faction problems happening. Rather than commoners/ect going hostile on PCs though, they go hostile on eachother.

In particular, guards (macedone guards, nektarian soldiers) are now quite often going after commoners (I've been trying to complete the adventurer's journal quest, but the soldiers keep on killing the second person you talk to in the quest).

I encountered an instance today where Billy Mard and a white kitten were trying to beat down a caravan bison. Amusing, yes ... annoying, yes, when one wants to buy a Mard bag (which I did), and I didn't feel like killing him today ...

From what I've noticed... The guards and such *seem* to go crazy-murderous after a PC somewhere has gotten into faction issues.

I've noticed this after a reset when I was the only one on.... things would be fine, but after I had done something to cause commoners and such to hate me, the guards in macedone will start offing commoners and animals.

The critters outside Mountainholm are fighting again, and Drow and their followers are too (though I needed the help). FYI

AFWIW, when an Epic lvl character visits the Halfling wagon camp, so many vermin appear that it becomes quite difficult to move via the mouse; pun kinda intended. This can be problematic as the NPC's often like to help.

The various areas of Aenea are seeing an uprising of mice, rats, bats, and other vermin recently. The numbers appear to be larger than previously capped, and NPC's are being drawn away to pursue which may result in Friendly Fire issues.

Again, the roads are seeing tons of bats descend upon the roadways making transit near impossible. Mice are leading cats, dogs, Clerics, and others away from their usual haunts. Etc.

And my recent discovery of when confused by an Umber Hulk into attacking nice, really huge friendly Umbers (and a quick trip to the Temple of Lysis), this also seems to ruffle feathers of actual birds, smiths, and city guardsmen across the globe. Answer: wait until reset.

This should never be an answer, only a hint that something is going seriously wrong and forcing people to stop playing ((until a reset occurs and hopefully things go back to "normal")) .... ....

PCs faction reputations are supposed to slowly return to normal over a few game hours automatically.... no deaths, relogging, or resets required.

I have no real idea of the elapsed time, but the initial fault happened in the Underdark, and I was transported to the Temple of Lysis in Macedone. After healing up fully, I returned to the Vale for resupplies, saw that Darla was hostile and starting her buff spells\ routines, so I escaped and went up to the hidden grove, where I was attacked by a single bird while shopping.

From there I wandered to Tradeholm. While most everyone was calm on the trek down there, the guards in Shamalangadingdong were also hostile, and had to be evaded. Having a character with noted vulnerabilities at low lvls, I decided to log after Tradeholm to avoid death. But I was able to get a new pair of bracers that session, and sell the used ones before I left.

I have already left a suggestion that a Faction Reset feature may be useful at the Cosmic Balance chamber in Mountainholm. Saw this in a mod series once, and thought it could be useful here due to the high volume of factions.
