Used: Poisons...
Make them stackable.
Their effect is short (10 rounds), so the actual act of reapplying them every turn plus the application DC is enough of a burden on the player; the inventory management hassle isn't necessary if the poison base item can be made stackable.

Re: Used: Poisons...
Edited:
This is a good idea, but checking on stacking issues, it might take a while.
At the moment, poisons are a misc. small item type, which doesn't stack. I can make a new item type, but it'll take some time for me to make new icons and add them to the updates hak, then make all new poison items (copying over descriptions and variables) and get them into the treasure generation system and shops.

Re: Used: Poisons...
Could you recode something that currently stacks, give it the appropriate OnUse and tags, and then have the update anvil make the substitution? Even if it's not Misc small, perhaps a misc thin (or even a custom potion) would work?

Re: Used: Poisons...
Well, if you make it a custom potion, when the character uses the poison, he'd drink it... which is a sign that he didn't pass the first day of assassin school

Naturally
Seriously, it can work just like the current ones, only with a new model...

Re: Used: Poisons...
Right now I'd have to remake all the poisons anyway. They use the same item tag, which means if they were suddenly stackable they'd all become whatever the first one in the stack was.
If I'm going to make them a new stackable item type, I'd do it right with at least some variation in the item icons (to better be able to tell them apart so you don't have to mouse over them all the time to figure out which is which...or quickslot a couple different ones and still have to mouse over them because they look the same).
If I go with an icon the same size as a potion icon, I could easily make them 3-layer icons (like with potions, wands, and rods) to make sure there's enough variety so that each is different. Which will come in handy because I do intend to add poisonmaking as a tradeskill eventually.

Nice!
Other types of poisons than the default ones would be wonderful too. Like some of these types!

Re: Used: Poisons...
A few sample poison icons...
The first is a basic poison vial with skull stopper.
The second is a vial of red fumes with a cork stopper.
The third has light blue specks inside (hard to see), topped with a cork, surrounded by a grey snake decoration.
The fourth is filled with ash or something, with a label on the side and a red, um, clay? stopper in the shape of a snake.
I whipped up a few different icons for each of the three layers and made variations on each of those, so I've got plenty to work with when it comes to updating the existing poisons and adding any new ones.
I have it set up so that all the poisons get the little skull and crossbones in the lower corner so they don't get mistaken for potions. They're also designed to be stored in stacks of up to 20 (twice what potions can be stacked to in inventory).
I plan on starting in on revamping the potions in-game sometime after the next updates hak is released (no estimate on that time as of yet).
Thanks for the suggestion(s).
