Partially Used: Is it a staff, or is it a club?

Quick question - the Blazing Staff, is it supposed to be a club for most racial types, or just for the smallish/halfling/gnome size? I have had many human/halfelf/elf PCs anticipate getting a 1/4staff, and had it be a club - highly disappointing whenever you want a PC to specialize in the 1/4staff ... I dunno if this is an error, or if it's supposed to be a club for everyone ... if that's the case, you should change it's name to the Blazing Club!

It's just a club these days. It used to be a quarterstaff (back before such weapons automatically granted Two-Weapon Fighting when wielded), but there were complaints that it couldn't be wielded by halflings and gnomes, so it got changed into a club.

I should just call it the blazing stick.

With the off-palette item system... would it be possible to have two versions of the stick, one a quarterstaff and the other a club, and have the reward-granting portion of Nethos' dialogue check the racial type of the PC to ensure that if they are small-size, they get the club version?

Considering the stats at lvl 40, we should call it the WHUP stick!. That thang makes Lyann a veritable powerhouse! She just adds Shock weapon and Acidic weapon and Frost weapon to it, and she has a SPOILER:







+10 Enchancement, 2d12 fire, 2d6 Cold, Acid and Electrical damage, gains cleave, adds Keen, and as a pure caster does 50 to 100 per hit! I just wish we could move the fire out to the end of the stick instead of the middle!

This is why I won't be changing it back to a quarterstaff. They are now quite effective as double weapons, and the magic can't just soup up one end of a double weapon in NWN. I think it'd bee a bit too powerful basically giving two weapons that scale up in power so much.
