Busy Dragon
Hi folks,
Sorry if I've been a bit quiet online that last few days. I've gotten swamped with family stuff, biochemistry stuff, toolset stuff, and getting sorted for Phoenix Comicon (and attending, which will be taking up the rest of my evening tonight and all day Saturday and Sunday).
Working through the backlog of unread forum posts now.

We know that you're always with us in spirit, so don't be concerned about it. We know that you'll get back to us as soon as you're able.
(It's the same for all of us, you know.)
As long as the server is up, we'll stay happy!
Good luck with all the projects and areas of your RL, and take care with any frankenstein-type experiments!

Re: Busy Dragon
*sigh* The place certainly has changed over all these years; what once was concerts and the circus is now Comic-Cons. But then, I did live there before there was any D&D, so what do I expect....
*grumbles something about being older than D&D*

Re: Busy Dragon
Don't worry, Elhanan, change is good!
My son was playing Call of Duty online last night, and he showed me this feature called Second Chance - essentially, when you get shot and are just about dead, you get a chance to draw a pistol and blast away. I then explained to Abe that when I was his age, we ran around our neighborhood with toy guns (or wood blocks that looked like guns) and "shot" at each other. The feature he knows as Second Chance we called "nerves" - when someone blasted you, you yelled "Nerves!" and then blasted them back.
Parallels are fun! And age is good, because it gives you more to appreciate.

heh! We only had fingers and hammers; cracked my skull once with the latter which explains why I sought never to get hit.
In the 3rd grade while living in Illinois, we had a trio of bullies, including a tall Amazon of a lass named Stephanie. The two guys would hold the vic, and allow her to kick him in the shins repeatedly. After becoming a victim a few times, a plan unfolded during the Winter after I received my new heavy coat; my new reversable Blue and Red coat.
While wearing the Red side showing, I made a huge slushy snowball and waited like a sniper for the trio. When they passed, I hit the lot of them (AoE by aiming at middle bully), and then ran for the nearest corner. After hitting my air brakes, I quickly reversed my coat to Blue - had become quite good at this after much practice - placed the hood up, double backed with my head down and walked right by them to the safety of the school. My guess is that they never saw who actually did it, as no reprisal ever came.
One of my best days EVER!

Re: Busy Dragon
Stupid "real life" interfering with my NWN time.
Almost done with biochemistry stuff. Just in time for my brother and his family to come visit. Oh, yeah...and sick kids and wife. How could I have forgotten that mess going on this week?
Phoenix Comicon was ok, but not quite as fun-filled as I imagined. Lots of interesting costumes, some good panels to attend, and even a personal introduction/lesson with Zombie Dice from one of the producers of TableTop. Exhibitor hall was kind of lacking in variety of merchandise though.
I need to find me a decent gaming convention. Maybe one year I'll have time and money to go back to Gencon or try out Origins.
