Cleric Spell Bug: Circle of Doom Empty Cleric Spell Bug: Circle of Doom

The spell description states it is supposed to do damage of 1d8+1 per caster level, no cap stated. It apparently caps at 20 caster levels though, both my clerics (40 and 29 caster levels respectively) cap at 21-28 damages.


Also, of all the inflict X/cure X wounds, circle, heal/harm spells, circle of doom is the only one NOT using the 'X per caster level or XX%, whichever is higher' formula. This needs to be updated. The partner spell to circle of doom, circle of light healing, does 1 per, or 5% for reference.

The circle of doom spell was never given the percentage-based damage like the inflict wounds x and harm spells. An oversight on my part when I changed those spells long ago, likely just from the spell's name (it doesn't include "inflict" "wounds" or "harm"). I can adjust that, but will take at least a tlk file update.

The level cap to the damage has always been there, but likely left out of the BioWare spell description.

When I redo the spell, I'll likely just make a series of "circle of x wounding" spells that match the healing ones, and this one will get automatically replaced with the 6th level version.

That'd rock.

Would likely want to tone down the 9th level version though compared to the 9th level circle healing spell.... or... pretty much implosion is that already, just with a smaller radius (medium vs greater circle's large)
