Helpful familiars and creature AI
Off my one question thread in the player questions forum.... I had an idea...
TonyK's AI override package also has in it tweaks to henchment/familiars/companions where you can adjust their gear (we already have that for familiars/companions to a degree), and it sets them to do other things as well, such as pick up things for you.
Vagabond mentioned he also ran into an issue with the dragon eggs where his familiar would pick up the egg, just like my ranger's wolf would pick up a certain armor.
That behavior could be just fine.... if we could take those found items from the familiars/companions like with the tonyK ai package. That hawk companion or cat familiar... they would be very helpful if they put their perception skills to use for their masters... that raven, well they are fascinated by shiny things they see laying around...
The package is also nice because of the tweaks to AI.... I find that NPCs tend to make greater use of their abilities with it (dragons use knockdown by default, yeah, but with this, I found dragons in the OC's were using it far more often.... stealthy enemies were making far greater use of their stealth modes, ect.
It might be really great to get some of those features into Aenea

Yeah, I'm totally in favor of enhanced companions/familiars!
I've never been happy with the stealth of my panther. If they had intelligent stealth and better use of their own abilities, that would indeed be super!
Anything we can do outfit our companions to be stronger and more capable, to make them more realistically useful.

On that note, yeah, the package also has it set to where when the PC goes into stealth or detect modes, so do the henchies, familiars and companions....
I've noticed that with Arizona... She'd go into stealth mode, and her wolf... doesn't. (ok, he's big and kinda klutze like, but he could at least TRY )

Yeah, with a ranger it's absolutely annoying to not be able to control the companion animal, quite immersion-breaking, and one of the reasons that my ranger frequently leaves her otherwise constant companion behind when she goes on dangerous expeditions.
When I made my wizard, I discovered that a mage can put her familiar into stealth by possessing it long enough to flip the switch.
