Cone Spells
I've noticed something odd with cone spells.... they dont' target quite right.
By that I mean... if you target a creature a good distance from you, you'll run up until you're "in range" to cast the cone AoE spell, and cast... but nothing will actually happen. The VFX will fire off, but there's no damage or saving throws or anything.
To get the spell to actually connect, you gotta walk a tiny bit closer than that "run up to" mark and then cast.
This also explains why the angheks acid cone attack is pretty much useless. They fire it off, but unless they'r closer than their cone attack techincally requires, nothing happens. You only make the save/take acid damage if you're close in to the when the cone fires off.
This behavior is consistent with that cone acid attack, the spells cone of cold, prismatic spray, and color spray. Not sure offhand of any other cone AoE spells/abilities, but it seems to be a general targetting range problem, so they are likely not being used as effectively by NPCs, and as well as causing "misfires" for PCs who cast from range with any and all cones.

..... what about Burning Hands or Dragon Disciple breath (in fact I've kind of noticed it with this one, I don't let of T'sets breath until he's already got a group in front of him, because it works better if he doesn't have to move) ...

Havent used burning hands in a while or dragon breath weapons. I vaguely recall a bandit mage trying burning hands on me though, and nothing happened. I'm not 100% on that though, it was just a casual notice amid a larger spawn of bandits.
