A torn, badly weathered scrap of paper, which even from several feet away smells of mildew, bears some odd words:

The End is Near! The Beast Will Destroy All!

The Beast! He will Destroy All of us with the Fires of the Hells and Heavens! He will be a Talon of Evil and will Slay the Good and Wicked alike!

The Time of The Beast is coming!



OOC: There is a DM(s)-run event planned for Friday, Oct. 24. Characters of all levels are welcome to participate.

Time: after 7pm Arizona time (10pm Eastern)...aka "after The Amethyst Dragon gets his kids to bed". It should last 1-2 hours once it gets going.

You can depend on the services of Rayvensclaw Nightkind to stop any evil that poses a threat to Aenea.

My steel shall be available also for the slaying of the Beast.

Jay would like to add the full fury of Sharlo and Naka, the twin moons, however he will more likely be on the "other side of Aenea".. dealing with the little shadows...
//ooc... if I can make it I will ... but its more likely I'll be at my gf's whose PC doesn't quite run NWN !!.. with our newborn (its where i've been most wknds).. of course I could take MY PC over to hers but thats an argument I'd rather avoid! (..you spend more time on that damn PC.. etc.. etc..)....

I will try to make it to Aenea to help out on the bashings as well!

It would seem that, if a psychotic demi-lich is to be taken at its word, that the mighty Crideas Bane has fallen in battle to a herald of The Beast.

Truth or no... the Wizard from Darkma's Stand seems to be unreachable at a time when his chosen wards may need him sorely.

Well, if Master Crideas is missing, Velvet will be wanting to know why, I will be there tonight.

One Great night in the firework show of the beast of Macedone! Well done to all who participated... it'll take a while but I'll get the screenshots I took edited and uploaded soon... eta : end of next week ... a quick flick through them shows some corrupted files that didn't take properly.. that'll teach me for hammering the key.. I got near 20 though.. a few are rather poor (too blury / show the sky/ground).. the last few seem fine though... at least we'll have a good castle shot.. Well done to us!!

I got two, myself ... coulda swore that I cranked that button a few more times ...

Man, you guys made Talon burn through 29 of the 30 potions of full heal he started with! At one point, I couldn't do anything for about 30 seconds for all the lagging from the attacks, then the "damage" floating text just kept rolling for 20 seconds after flying off.

Those that were able to participate have been given a title from the kind of Nektaria. If you haven't noticed yet, you can use the VC command info title to see it (since it isn't part of your character file, but stored in the database).

I meant to be in character as the king during the entire ceremony, but discovered tonight that possessed NPCs don't get to use the DM Tool feats, which were needed to hand out the rewards.

LOL Sounds like the night with Gron in the great hall. Had that happen too back with the environmental damage bugs.

It was a total blast, even if I had only fire spells prepared with only a handful of frost.. even so, I burned though those res scrolls so fast, and a few choice Mass Haste helped out I'm sure

Good times, and a great fight it was!

I forgot to mention...

The stampede of horses was awesome! I've never heard of something so original! That was incredibly cool.

Sorry i missed the fun tonight, spent most of the day at the hospital with my grandfather, hope to be back on full time soon.

Family comes first. There will be other events.

I liked the cage of force walls, followed by the spell triggered fireballs to nuke a large group of kobolds! The lag from it was pretty bad, but the visual rocked!

The horse stampede was Epic... and totally hilarious!

And right at the start, when folks started filtering into the docks of Macedone.... one at a time.... and getting MOBBED by fire giants in turn... sorta gave me an evil chuckle

I also liked some of the shouts that were going out, "Trade Licks, Wyrm?" was very cute

That was awesome. I can't wait until the next event!

Not only was the battle against Talon and his horde a hoot, but there are lasting reminders of the running battle scarring the landscape of Aenea. Way cool A.D.!

Just a question; as a level 6 fighter, (level 4 at the time of the event) is it even worth showing up for this sort of event? Or will the time-stopped fireballs be all that it's worth bringing?

The kobold thug minions were well within the capabilities of a 4h level fighter.

Hit and run tactics against the large numbers of enemies would still be a requirement for survival, avoiding the dragon, etc...

Of all the enemies used last night, only Talon could see through invisibility, and he was rather easy to avoid.

Even at low levels, potions of invisibility can be acquired rather cheaply, and can make the difference between life and death.

If an event were to be run that did not include enemies appropriate for lower levels, that would definitely be stated up front.

I got a face full of Talon shortly after, and felt rather meek inside that cage. Never have I clicked on my Transference spell to get out of a situation so desperately before!
