Yes, 
got the surprise shotgun blast of a magic missile blast to the kisser announcing the Alhoon's arrival. I was gawking at the screen thinking "Damn, I don't think I've seen one of those spawn before, we're ALL going to the great hall!"

It wouldn't have been as bad if I could have found my newly-enchanted wand of shielding after the first half of the barrage of missiles. I've got to remember to put new wands in quickslots.
