Not Used: Minor Suggestion: Return Inkpot to Smitty's?

Not long ago, Smitty sold an Inkpot (I think that I'm getting the name correct). With it, a PC could change the colors of his Helmet, Armor/Clothes, and Cloak.

Recently this have been removed from his Inventory (like the Brooch of Shielding I think). I think about this item nearly everytime I log on, and wish it was still there.


Changing the color of your gear has no game mechanic advantages, but allows that player to customize the appearance of their PC. For me, this contributes an awful lot to my gaming experience - my character looks in-game similar to how I imagine the PC looks in my mind. It was consistently one of the first things I bought for my PCs.

I understand that it is still can still be acquired somewhere else in Aenea. But it might not be able to be reached for many PCs (presuming they'd want it or know where it is) until somewhat later in their careers. For myself, I want to exude character flavor represented by color scheme as soon as possible. :-)


Would it be possible to return the Inkpot to Smitty's inventory?

Agree 100%.

It's been removed? Crap. Wasn't supposed to be, but might have been with the addition of the random merchant stock and the refreshing from the palette...

I think I'm going to leave this particular item out of Smitty's stock for a while...for those wanting to use the magical dye pot, it is currently sold by the spellcaster known as Spectra, who has a nice little shop in the Gold Ward of Calithia.

The trip itself can be an adventure. Maybe not for 3rd level novices, but a good reason to go out and explore more of Aenea on foot (or by ship).

Rats...

Curses...16th Level Char, 35+ hrs, have explored both West and East Gold Wards (buying passage to the city multiple times for no other purpose other than to find the item), and still no Inkpot.

All because a self-respecting Pale Master does not wear green.

Any additional suggestions that might narrow the search (East Ward? West Ward? North/South/East/West quadrant of the area)?

Calithian Empire: Calthia: Gold Ward East. Spectra's shop (it's an interior space, rather than an outdoor spot). She sells lots of stuff that has to do with colors, including coloring agents for hair, skin, tattoos, and the visible aura of weapons.

Sorry I don't know why but this thread just made me think of this :

"Give S'vair a pot and he can colourchange for a single PC, teach S'vair where and how to find the pot and he colourchange for a lifetime"...

... To the general tune of 80% of the "just £2($5) a month" appeals that can be found on TV..
