Crafting question

Few days ago i crafted a helm of teleportation....crafted it into helm ## and was happy. Today however i tried to appearance craft a pair of them and i get the popup saying i cant cause its locked. Now this isnt a rant...more of a logic question, if im building a helm of teleportation from scratch...wouldnt logic dictate i be able to make it appear however i want in the final outcome? Even if only just the base nwn helms would have been nice...as that current bucket look is ugly.

Ok, just trying to make sense of this in my head so I can track down what's going on...please correct me if I'm off target here.

A few days ago you changed the appearance of a helm of teleportation to something you wanted.

Then today you took two more helms of teleportation and tried the same thing, but got a message saying each was invalid or couldn't be changed?

Which appearance number were you trying to change the helms to? There are one or two I've got "reserved" for specific items or player reward items, so I'm wondering if this is one of them.

it was number 28 if memory serves. The popup i got was the one saying this item is not allowed for appearance crafting thingy. Strangely it seems to be working now...however npcs are attacking the gates of macedone, im thinking the server needs a reset.

also...i saw this in the toolset while tinkering with ideas for nightstars 20k item...is this lookin right? the texture looks all fubar. Can ya look into it?



Also..what happened to that blue emmiter spell resistance shield the gnome in maceone used to sell...it hasnt been there in ages.
