Researching spells Empty Researching spells

Dear The Amethyst Dragon,

How does researching spells work in Aenea?

When I DMed in PnP, it was easy. The wizard character had to sit out of adventuring for one or two sessions, spend x gold, usually ended up needing a rare element/item which the entire group had to quest for, then char level - spell level x 5 percentage chance of success (18 lvl char, 9 level spell, 45 percent chance of success). Always failed on a 1 on d20.

Anyway, my Wizard would like to research a spell, Spirit of Wolf, which would give 200% movement for 10 min per level.

Please advise if you allow new spell research in Aenea, and what the mechanics for this particular spell would be. I am thinking 5th level spell............

Unfortunately, adding new spells in NWN is not that easy. It involves me making a new script for the spell, a new spell icon, a new scroll icon, editing aenea.tlk, editing spells.2da, editing iprp_spells.2da, adding these to a hak file, and getting everyone to download that updated hak.

For all that, you might want to find, purchase, or enchant a pair of boots of striding and springing.
