Portable Encampment?

Been meaning to get an answer for this for a while now from .

What is the benefit of carrying the 50 extra pounds and giving up an entire inventory tab for a Portable Encampment that can only be used 3 times per day (as opposed to a bedroll with unlimited uses)?

Does it help with healing during resting, wearing armor during resting, avoiding weather penalties, allow resting in areas that normally don't allow resting.... what does it do better than the bedroll?

Good question, been wondering the same thing myself..

I've never seen one in use myself ... and from a pac-rat perspective, I don't immediately see the benefit of carrying around such a thing ...

Does it help with Darkness during daylight hours? Never played a child of the night, but this leaps to mind.

It provides better rest (like sleeping in an inn room), and cancels out penalties from sleeping outdoors during rainy weather or winter.

Nothing major here, just another option for those that feel like roleplaying a better camping experience (rather than just plopping down on the ground with no cover).

Some additional benefits like I listed would be good... like better rest without needing to manually remove armor.

Cosmetically, could the script be changed to actually make it look like the PC is setting up an actual encampment? For example, a fire & cookpot, etc...
