Lightsaber?

So... in Calithia, there is a certain Wizard... he is awfully Count Dooku-ish...

He draws a weapon that looks an awful lot like a red beamed lightsaber...

Sadly, only his neat cloak is lootable... not the weapon...

So I am wondering now... if the NPC has one, that means that the item
exists in the game world module... please please please tell me you did
not make this an "only the NPCs get it" type of deal...

Assuming PCs can get their hands on it, if they search and quest high and low,
and manage to defeat the challenges in thier way, what weapon type
would this be? (specifically, what proficiencies and other weapon-typed
feats would apply?)

I already broke down, and for the first time in my life, had one of
my Wizard characters take the shield proficiency because the
Shield of Force had two things going for it.... crazy awesome stats
that wouldnt hurt my casting abilities, and its looked so freaking
phenomenal I just HAD to throw off my pre-planned feat progression
to get it... and no, I do not regret that decision for even a microsecond.

So, if I could get a lightsaber, I would again consider sacrificing
a feat that could otherwise be dedicated to making my
spells more potent, in order to wield it... cuz for some reason,
or many reasons too lengthy to get into... I feel that lightsabers
are hands down, simply put, the most cool and awesome weapons
ever imagined. And I want one *lol*

That blade was designed specifically for Salizan And he wasn't designed to look like Dooku, just a coincidence.

Having a weapon with a "lightsaber" style blade is entirely possible. Maybe I'll make it so that he will sometimes drop it. Oh, and it's a longsword.

In that case, if "lightsaber" style blades are possible...

What would the Item "cost" or "value" be to have a weapon like my
"Blazing Staff" made to look like a lightsaber? If I manage to get my grubbly little hands on another
custom Item voucher, I would want to make such a thing, maybe with a tweak here
and there on the stats...

You'd probably have to go with a double-bladed sword, an exotic weapon. (I know the quarterstaff doesn't have it available). You can play around in the toolset if you want to find the "lightsaber blade" appearance. Just make any bladed weapon, then fiddle with the "appearance" section until you find (or do not find) what you're looking for.

As far as the cost of another weapon like the blazing staff...I hadn't thought about it before. Let's go with...75,000 gp (subject to change with notice).

I killed an elder beholder and got a custom item 75,000 voucher.

back to the toolset I go! I assume I just set the appearance, give it the "use:unique power(self only) unlimited uses/day" ability, and email you the .erf file.

Right? Then you attach the "blazing staff" script to the unique power?

Ill see if i can't finagle some way to not have to blow a feat on a new weapon type... but sadly, i think you are right, my chances of accomplihsing this are dismal....

Well, the fact is, i have TWO 75k item vouchers... one I got the other night with Geron Millows which he was kind enough to let me have (the next one that drops while were are together is his), and then I got another one the next day.... so I the stuff in the email is still needed, but Im going to whip up another item (the weaon) and send it off too...

I am curious if the script to replace the 75k voucher will run into an issue with me having 2 separate vouchers of the same value.... will i lose both vouchers and only get one item?
