Year 5425: A Call to Gather

A series of magical and godly acts culminates in a strange ritual being performed in the tiny village of Valorian's Vale. Four priests of Gort, a couple of powerful wizards, and a gnome dressed in bright red and green armor finish an enchantment they had been working on for more than a year.

When completed, the spellcasters find that their magic, intended to create a portal to all four of the elemental planes at once, has failed. Disappointed and broken hearted, they leave the Vale behind.

Late that night, a lone man appears in the Sleeping Dragon, the only inn found in Valorian's Vale. Lost and confused, this man began wandering the lands of Aenea to see what kind of place he had stumbled upon. Soon, another traveler appeared in the inn. Then another. Then another.

Somehow, the spellcasters had opened a portal into the heart of the Sleeping Dragon Inn, and those with the will to explore were being drawn to Aenea from their own worlds.

To this day, the portal continues to draw travelers, who continue to find themselves appearing in the Sleeping Dragon.
