Rather than trying to include other classes to use teleportation, why not allow this 'rose' of Aenea to be known by other names?

For instance, Transport via Plant could allow Druids or other with such PnP spell transportation to open themselves to this Aenean pleasure. These classes could allow teleportation with the current effects, but could be titled with new names for each of the caster classes as deemed appropriate.

Currently, I believe there are only 5 classes that have access to Teleportation beyond the 1/day helm: Sorcerer, Wizard, Rogue, Assassin, and Shadowdancer. Reward vouchers are terrific, but those with enough GP seem to appear late in the life of many characters.

Could some other like names be given to Teleportation spells, and be doled out to more of the classes?

I actually feel teleportation takes away the feel of Aenea. Also makes the portals useless after lvl 10. Because then is when you can make the big bucks killing orcs for rare items and selling them to buy scrolls or teleport potions. But of course that's just how "I" feel.

Maybe what we do need is a universal usable "Rod of Translocation" with some teleport and transference properties... and more then once per day... maybe with an ILR of 10 - 15 .... I'm not sure if Aenea has a "slightly mad archmage of reknown ability that may or my not have created such a rod that other mages have seen in use and started to copy, albeit at a weaker version then the original" << hint Crideas' Rod >> .....

Saying that Teleport 5/day only costs 17401gp on a custom rod item .. so thats 8hrs played and your first custom item made... ...

I have to agree with Gruftlord on this one. Once the reincarnation feats are fixed it'll help. I personally am not entirely sure that we need more teleportation abilities. There are portals to just about any general area, and from there one can walk.

Could add ruby red slippers that you click the heels together to go to a place , but 2 % chance of each use it turns you into dorathy from the wizard of oz..... now that would be funny !

The portals are great, but require the use of an item slot which is problematic for some classes to use.

And while such an item appears to be less costly than I expected, if it 'easily' obtained and one that is oft requested, then perhaps it should be an item found IG rather than one made?

How is it problematic for some classes though? Only one I can think of is shifter, as they would have to 'deshift' to have the amulet actually appear as equipped.

And meh... helms of teleportation. Or scrolls if you can use scrolls via class/UMD Smile

I'm still trying to figure out how to get a helm of teleportation...Though I find it's more useful to just buy 50 teleport scrolls. Why is it hard to put on a necklace, activate the portal and then take it off?

Easiest method for a helm is to get a PC mage to craft one. Other than that, they're some store inventories randomly.

I remember a single player mod where the PC could travel through trees, i.e. you were given an item which you could 'use' on any living tree, and it would transport you through the root system to a different area.

Maybe Druids could get a similar ability/spell? Of course, if you were in a treeless area it might not be too helpful, but then I suppose it would also balance things out.

Just to note (I'm sure its been mentioned elsewhere) using the Wanderer's amulet is problematic for clerics and druids because the necklace is their primary slot for WIS increasing items. After switching amulets they have to go back into their spellbooks and reselect their spells for the bonus slots and rest or drink a renewal potion. Its kind of a pain.

Examples: Casters seem to have INT, WIS, and/or Spell Slot nacklaces for that same inventory slot. Changing out to the Portal item can present a loss of spells, which be detrimental especially for some arrival points.

* Druids, Rangers, and followers of Andra do not seem to have any lowbie friendly altars available. I really do not know if any are near portals or not, but even then that is not really a lowbie related quest either.

* Aarn, Aargyle, and Barnabas all use scrolls, also. However, they either have UMD or the spell. Most classes do not have access to either, which is why I ask for inclusion to at least the Divine casters.

My thought is that if Clerics and Druids can get such effects added to their lists, this will at the very least offer all the base casting classes the same kind of fast transport they see in PnP in various guises. Bards already have it via UMD, but I am fairly certain another song would not receive too much complaint.

And Paladins and Rangers could both use some more loving; faster transport would seem to fit well for either in some form.
