Extract the swashbuckler hat from the robes and make a visual item outta it like the circlets and glasses.

Oooooooh.... excellent idea.

An actual "hat" for the hat of disguise!

And it would also move in sync with the character head then (unlike the robe/neck parts which sit in place).
