Not Used: Corpses
Earlier tonight, a new player asked me what can be done for a corpse of another player other than casting raise dead/resurrection on it (seeing as he had neither of those).
And I had a thought.... Could perhaps the corpses be tweaked so that you can pick them up and bring them to a healer to be raised? For the low levels, where even the cheaper scrolls of "raise dead" are extremely pricey, having a hunting partner being able to lug a corpse back to the vale (or another town with a priest/priestess of Asis) could be a nice way to soften the blows of death.
Another server I played one had a system like that... Pick up the corpse, and walk it back to a healer (they blocked the ability to teleport with a corpse, but they also had a timer on how long you stayed in the afterlife before auto-respawning and taking an XP hit, so getting the body to a healer in time was a factor there). The corpse would appear in the player's inventory as a large misc. object (with a corpse looking icon) weighing a good deal. It wasn't as easy as having a cleric nearby to raise, but it was better than nothing. While we don't have timers on how long you stay dead before auto raising, have gifts of Zolaras, and raise dead/ressurection scrolls usable by everyone, the "lug your buddy's corpse" back to town could encourage team play more, while not making it a necessity either. Scrolls would still be easier, but a lug back to town would be available even for the higher levels who happen to be flat broke/out of scrolls.

This is a great idea. I would prefer not to have a "timer" on it, however.
Also, how would it be handled if the player walks to the dais while their corpse in in someone's inventory? Can they be spawned next to that person?
All in all, this WOULD be a great way to encourage team play

Also, the Vale does not seem to have any Raise magics available, AFAIK. Placing some here would aid the ones with the gold, which the lowbies will not have anyway. Just a thought....

Go toward the graveyard and talk with the priestess of Zolaras.
Oh, and if you're carrying one of those scrolls and you die, your party members can get the scroll off your corpse and use it on you.

Thanks! Being a Good Dwarf, I was obeying the warning on the Inn board to stay away; have not visited yet.

This is actually a good point, some of the boards in the Inn might not have all up-to-date info. The PvP info on the rules board for one.... but also the above case might benefit from clarification and perhaps a footnote that the cleric of Zolaras is there and will aid adventurers....

Updating the different boards in the Sleeping Dragon Inn.
Carrying corpses...possibly. I'd have to rework some of the scripts, because the raise dead, resurrection, and other returning to life scripts all reference that corpse object lying on the ground where it dropped.
