Tradeskill: Runemaking
With the Runemaking tradeskill, a PC in Aenea can paint mystical runes on small stones. At a later time, these stones can be tapped on various types of items that can be equipped, transferring the painted runes to the desired items.
Runes, are temporary once applied to an item, lasting only 6 hours, but they can provide minor magical benefits. Stronger runes are more difficult to properly paint.
Tool Needed: Rune Paints (25 uses, cannot be recharged)
As this skill is used, you may improve in it. On a successful skill use, there is a 10% chance you will gain a +1% improvement. Thiscan build up to a +100% over time.

Re: Tradeskill: Runemaking
Runemaking updated.
Runes are no longer painted directly on items at the time the rune paints are used. Instead, the skill now creates small (stackable) runestones. The runestones function just like enhancing crystals (such as a crystal of static), but the properties are temporary (6 game hours).
No more messing with variables to track properties, no more limit of one rune per item. Runes can be given to other PCs (the don't fade until they are used). You cold sell them, too, but they're not worth much money.
The rune paints are being replaced with new versions that aren't used directly on target items. Instead, the VC commands themselves trigger reductions in the "charges/uses" on the rune paints.
I just dumped the "bonus spell slot" runes. They never worked anyway, and as temporary properties they never would be able to (since temporary effects vanish on sleeping).
