Vacation for AD!

Starting xmas day, I'll be on vacation in Wisconsin for a week and a half. Woo hoo! Visiting family, playing in the snow, eating, playing in the snow, visiting family, playing in the snow...

Don't worry. I don't foresee a repeat of last winter's unexpected "server hiatus". With NWNX working properly (and proven many times in the last 11 1/2 months), the server should be doing just fine. And if there's a power outage for some strange reason and the server can't restart itself, I've got someone house-sitting that I can call and walk them through a manual restart (it's as simple as "push the power button, wait a minute for Windows to start up, double click on the NWNX icon").

Have I mentioned the snow?

We just got 2 feet of snow in New Jersey from a storm this past weekend. Most of the schools were closed on monday and some on tuesday as well, so I've had enough of snow for the moment. But at least the neighbor helped out and let us borrow the snowblower - YAY no shoveling

Are you talking about the "skill markers"? Those were 95% done when I left...I just had to reduce their height by 50% to make them look better before making them available for download.

The files aren't actually on the live server yet, since I'm hitting a few areas in the toolset to add them to, plus importing kalipuppy's custom item, plus importing Kang's house, plus erasing all the "winter" scenery from the VV fields (I didn't realize quite how laggy it was when I threw it in a hour before I left for vacation), plus making a few other changes before I reset the server with the updated haks.

I didn't notice lag really in the fields. I did notice the nice effect though. With the "snow" being above actual ground level, it really looked like characters were trudging through deep snow

Yeah, that snow effect was pretty cool! Makes me wanna get my snow world module out and blow the dust off of it...

The lag was all visual, so probably more pronounced on my laptop. Plus, it was snowing, so that is another little FPS hit.
