Beets my PnP roles. I have a personal house rule where I can role twice if I haven't hit anything within the past 30min.

Re: Aenea Funny Pages
I would get into how actual dice rolls aren't *really* 'random' either, but yeah... NWN's dice rolls can be sucky at times.
I DID have a bad streak a few weeks ago, multiple 20's against me, killed me dead really fast. Forget how many, but it was enough to cause me to go BWUH?

This has been necessary in the past, and sometimes still doesn't fix the problem.

Re: Aenea Funny Pages
Actual dice wise... My first version of Crideas in Pnp got screwed by the dice and hds his spells taken away permanently... Lol.
How, you Ask?
We were fighting a big bad epic lich. I had Greater Arcane Sight up, so my first action was to peek at all his gear and gizmos... DM tells me I nearly go blind from the incredibly bright dweomers of multiple artifacts and other epic level goodies he has. Now, gamer greed tells one to kill the dude and take the stuff... but, he also said the auras were strongly evil, meaning goodly wizard wouldn't want the items, and would seek to destroy them anyways...
So, I had a Luckstone on me, and my next action, I cast Mordenkainen's Disjunction.
Beginning of the end.
The DM rolled saves for each magic item, and failed almost all of them. YAY right?
He rolled percentiles for the artifacts, and three were disjoined. Now it was my turn to roll 3 will saves.
I had a high enough bonus that I could only fail with a 1. If I failed, a god would be angry nnd take all my magic away as punishment.
First roll, 1. No prob, Luckstone reroll!
Second roll, 1. I couldn't believe it. Crideas was now a farmer...

Re: Aenea Funny Pages
Actual dice can be a friend to the PCs as well...
Played in a PnP campaign where the DM (not me) was doing his best to try to kill off the PCs in the "final battle" against an avatar of Ragnor (we were using Aenea since it was familiar). I've never seen so many openly-rolled, legitimate 20s for saving throws in a single session...even from my wizard on multiple fortitude saves. The PCs won.

Re: Aenea Funny Pages
Fun with blade barriers...
Step one, cast several blade barriers at the gates to the orc training camp.
Step two. Run through the camp and get every one of those tuskers to chase you.
Step three, get back out to the other side of the gate....
Make some popcorn, and wave to the lemmings, er, orcs.
Step four... sacrifice nice tightly group piles of remains.

Oh man! Harsh, and certainly beats any sob stories regarding dice that I have to tell. What happened to him later?
Back in '88, I rolled my first 00 when testing to see if my 1st level PC might have Psionics*. I started to get excited, only to be calmly told Elves can't have Psionics, and no, I couldn't change my race. I didn't roll a PnP 00 for another decade+.
