For those that get annoyed by anything that takes time away from the game, here's a look at what I did with part of my summer.

The Amethyst Dragon's Kitchen Counter

Truly a Dragon of all trades!

We'll be moving soon - any chance that the Dragon makes house calls?

All joking aside, that's a truly inspiring project that you completed, and it gives me hope that I, too, can someday make the inside of my house pretty again!

No idea. It works for me.

Try adding "/index.htm" to the end if the first part doesn't come up right.

Me thinks that maybe when he were done buildin' that there part o' his house he fergot ter save it...

Now he'll have ter start all over with them durn placeables...

Patience (and a reasonably patient spouse) can let even a novice home-improvement worker be successful. Careful thought and research are handy too.

I did as much research as I could before starting the Skimstone work. I didn't want to make a big mistake and have to rip out and replace my countertops (that was the back-up plan if the Skimstone turned out crappy-looking).

Next non-NWN project: Scraping and repainting kitchen cabinet doors while waiting for my grad school application to go through and then starting classes this fall...again.

Done with school? Twice, so far

5 years undergrad (B.S. in Recreation Management)
2 years grad (elementary teaching certificate plus 6 credits shy of a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction)
Next...1 more year of grad school to get my certification to teach high school biology (plus probably some time to finish my master's degree)

More home improvement pictures/how-to...probably not for this project. Scrape and sand off old paint/finish, coat with primer, repaint, add drawer and cabinet handles...pretty simple stuff (if not time consuming).
