Wasn't expecting that.
So I got to level ten, and thought to myself... 'I'm going to just go out and ... explore!'
Ended up booking passage on a ship to some cold place, forgot the name. (I'm not good with names.)
All going well, bought some warm gear to keep from freezing. Headed on out on a wee hike up 'a big mountain'... avoiding any caves... as one would assume caves hold ... well... Dragons.
Had a couple of quite large fearsome Ice Giants pummel on me a bit, but I managed to take them down. Healed up, headed further up the mountain.
Several frosty Orc fellows jumped me from behind, though none of them put up much of a fight.
On I go... until... boom. Ice Dragon... Wyrmlings. Lots of them. One or two, no worries... but this was like a swarm. Slowly but surely, cut a bloody swath through the last of them, and decided to set up camp and rest for a few hours. As I lay there listening to the wind, it occured to me... where there be wyrmlings, there be mother.
Regardless, I moved further up the mountain. Chances are any dragons would make a cave a home, rather than out in the open. Or so I assumed.
Making my way between high cliffs, the wind blew snow hard through the small crevices. It was rather difficult to see.
I stumbled out of the gap, into a large open area. The wind died down alot here, and woe and behold, before me stood an adult white Dragon. I decided to act quickly, an adult dragon would surely have me for dinner. So I turned, and ran. I may be an adventurer, a hero, but I'm not an idiot. That's debatable on many levels, but I won't get into that now.
Little did I realize... Adult White Dragons can move! Before I even had a chance to reach the tight cliffs, she was upon me! So... I stopped. I turned to face the fearsome beast, and made a stand.
Mustering all of my courage, I took a swing at her. She lifted herself away with her wings before my blade could bite her.
The battle was long and hard. Both the dragon and myself became weary, each taking blow for blow, coming back for more. One of us was not going to walk away from this.
I found myself being pushed further and further against the wall, as she kept trying to pummel into me with those savage claws. So I reacted. I pushed my foot against the wall, and threw myself forward at her, swinging my blade at her soft belly.
The force from the push was enough. She stepped back, blood gushing from the open wound, letting out a mighty roar as she fell. I think that was enough adventuring into unknown mountains for one day.
// So... I had no custom items, no fear immunity, no idea what the hell I was doing, and nothing in the way of... awesome gear. Yeah, maybe some would see this and think, 'meh' that dragon's easy'. I don't care. Damned thing near gave me a heart attack when I saw it... and then when it ran toward me like it was possessed... I thought.. 'Oh well... it's you or me'. I'm proud of myself. Only downer was the fact this particular dragon had no 'hoard of treasure'... though the experience (actual xp and just the experience of the battle itself) was pretty rewarding in itself.
Only time I got more xp than that from a mob was the wizard dude in the Calithila or whatever quest where you get the antique... but this was a hell of alot more fun

Re: Wasn't expecting that.
I don't care if it's "just an easy dragon", it's a dragon damnit. I would have ran away.
Good job sir!

//
Nice episode!
Dragons are even a little bit harder nowadays because they just recently obtained flight capability!
