I just caught this on the front page of the Vault today - me sad.

Announcement: Forums Closing

I guess it should come as no surprise - the game is old and unsupported for some time (in game time, anyways) - on a related note, a month or so ago, BioWare deleted the Divide & Conquer guild - sharonacurves said it was just gone one day, for no reason. I guess we should've seen this coming, eh? They do have new social forums available, find them here, that we will all be able to reregister and post to. Wonder if they're going to save the old forums, or if they will be lost to the great interweb afterlife...

Saw that last night. I, too, think it's sad that such a long-running (and consistently-used) resource is being shut down.

I'm working on copying over a post or two to the "social" forums that are now open, but probably won't visit there every day like I did the older NWN forums.

Yeah, I found your posts, and piggybacked onto them! Social site ... dammit, I already don't have enough time to check my aenea, MAL, email, facebook, and now this! (and yes, in that order!)

While I like the new Social Site, it is not the nice on-line burbs I am used to reading. The community is now HUGE, and too many of the vocal posters are rude, whiney, entitled, immature, and borderline indecent. That said, most of these are bothering Bioware; not the rest of us.

I am a vocal fan of DAO, and been immersed into this new setting since being forced away from NWN for the current time. I have also been deeply involved in NWN on a few forums before the one being closed, so it is simply the newest update.

NWN is still the closest on-line PnP experience available, so I would encourage all here to grab the best from both the past and future stockpile of ideas, and continue to make the game you want to play.
