I like, if only because I made a Sea Elf as my first character in order to be able to more fully access the world.... only to find my waterbreathing and swimming abilities were basically useless.

Re: Used: glug glug glug
I like... does anyone ever wander around and come across a "natural diving board" (part of the tileset, that looks like it would be ideal as a launching point into the sea) ... ?
I do...
I can think of a few examples right now...
... the darkleaf forest lake "jetty", there is a plinth out into the lake, the tip would be ideal... ..
... the area surrounding the Dawnholme portal... ..
... the tip of the great rift, with possibly more overland area beyound...
... getting "dragged under" by the currents at the teshian river ford (the one you can walk across)...
... the gardens.. either one, the one above ground in the sylven realm nr. moonblaze, or the one underground with the displacers...
... any point along the underground river...
... any point along the dark realm river ...

The river area in Tesh, I was so sure there had to be a zone there I spent hours searching way back when.
Same thing for the river area in Calithia, it was such a perfect spot for a underwater zone I was sure I was just missing it.

I know there are some underwater areas now, I should explore them better, but I keep getting this sense that they could be somehow ... more epic. Not necessarily that you've gotta have an epic PC to get there, but that there's a whole set of underwater areas that make waterbreathing helms, spells, and PCs more of a viable, useful option.

Re: Used: glug glug glug
The thing I don't understand is Aenea has Sea-Elves (and Half-Sea-Elves) and Triton kin as selectable subraces, which mean that these subraces must exist, therefore somewhere there must be an underwater village where these people live... why don't we have one of those, with outlying underwater-pearl farm fields, and cave's to explore... ... .. ..
One thing that has always bugged me a little with Aenea's subrace's is very litle representation by "the rest of the world". I mean yes, we have drow, vampires and werewolfs aplenty, and I can see we possibly can't distinguish the difference between some of the others .. but where are the winged beings, the shadowchildren, the subraces ?... ...
I have yet to meet a winged NPC (unless I'm being completely blind!), and I have only ever met 1 NPC shadowchild, I guess the various Fraxen Demons etc, can be considered demonspawn.....

Re: Used: glug glug glug
I would love to branch out, and going underwater seems like a decent next step. An environment even more hostile than beholder tubes, where the surrounding itself can kill you ... and of course, with sunken ships and ancient civilizations, the rivers/lakes/oceans can be the motherlode of alien environments, ripe for the picking if one is prepared, but catastrophic if one is not.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not piling on more work for , this is just one of those things that I think would make Aenea more robust, more complete.

Re: Used: glug glug glug
I think a good representation of an underwater area is the Celestan Ocean underwater area, off the coasts of Calithia... good cave system, lot's of ground to explore, the sunkern 'henge temple, the pearl ship... even an underwater chasm to swim across..... there needs to be more areas like this across aenea..... I would go so far as to say maybe some underwter cave networks linking two places together would be great to see.... ... how about an entire section to walk from the macedone burial isle to deathwater island ?
And the wildlands is somewhere I'd love to see too, maybe using a mixture of the tropical and daggerdale swamps tileset, with a yaun-ti / lizardfolk village ? ? .... I think of all the "major oveland area's" on the map, the wildlands is the only one without any representation.....

I agree with you, RustyDios, about the Ocean, and certainly about the Wildlands ... curses to BioWare because of the resource cap.
