Used: Heads, I win ... tails, you lose!
Heya!
Any possibility that we could get a vc command that simulates the flipping of a coin? There could even be options with more in-game flavoring, something like this:
type ";;coinflipooc" and it floats either "Coin flipped ... Heads." or "Coin flipped ... Tails." in that cool floaty over the pc text. The "ooc" standing for "out of character", of course, for those who want to go with what they know.
type ";;coinflipic" and it floats either "Coin flipped ... Crowns." or "Coin flipped ... Dragons." in that cool floaty over the pc text. The "ic" standing for "in character", of course, for those who want to be a bit more immersive?
I'm thinking that it would be cool to have that awesome Two-Face-ish what-do-I-do-now?-I-know-flip-my-lucky-coin!-kinda atmosphere going ... plus, it would be cool to have a really simple decision-making tool like that available.
Any thoughts?
And out of curiosity, who among ye knows what Aenean coin the dragon is on? , you stay out of this!

Awww, shucks. That might have been one of the small details I've forgotten over the years.Eric of Atrophy wrote:And out of curiosity, who among ye knows what Aenean coin the dragon is on? , you stay out of this!
(It isn't, but it could have been.)

Nah .. Jay told me was on a coin oddly enough nicknamed the "dragon" ... Whilst Grace said that it was a rare gift to recieve one, but most of the larger macedonian merchants prefer to deal in "moons", most common folk only earn a couple of "stars" a month, and as pocket money from her old tutors at the wizard guild she used to get a few "lanterns"....
What can really bake your noodles is noticing how warm a BoM actually is, and somewhere out there is a red-steel full plate and glass-steel sword (and now I think your guessing why I mentioned them and what is so special about 'em?) ....

Seriously, though, all trivia aside, what are the chances that these commands (or some similar to them) can make it into the game? Just a simple heads or tails generating line that doesn't require another object to function.

Well, I'd say you could flip a coin on it. If you get heads, this will make it into my coding tonight. If you get tails, it won't not get into my coding tonight.Eric of Atrophy wrote:Seriously, though, all trivia aside, what are the chances that these commands (or some similar to them) can make it into the game? Re: Used: Heads, I win ... tails, you lose!
This is being added as an emote: ..flipcoin
The emote will mention flipping a silver coin (the holy symbol of Lysis, the goddess of luck), resulting in either the "head" side up or the "star" side up.
Aenean history/info:
While NWN only really uses the generic "gold piece", there are references to Aenean currency.
Most currency features the face or crest of the leadership of the nation that minted a particular coin, while by centuries of tradition, the other side features a symbol specific to the coin's metal and value.
Common copper coins carry the image of a lantern and are known by the populace as "lanterns" or "copper lanterns".
Silver coins carry the image of a single star on one side and are called "stars" or "silver stars". The silver coin is the holy symbol of Lysis (goddess of fortune, fate, luck, and rogues).
Gold coins carry the image of a dragon and are called "dragons" or "gold dragons".
Platinum coins, the most valuable and rare, carry the image of the two moons of Aenea. They are called "moons" or "platinum moons".
The people of Aenea might look at you funny if you talk of "gold pieces", "copper pieces", "silver pieces", or "platinum pieces". They might think you are talking about pieces of jewelry or art.
