Hunting Grounds in the Silverleaf Forest
How about adding some deer and other various animals to the existing area (or prepare an add-on to the existing area) on which to obtain pelts, hides and meat in which you can sell to a NPC for some profitable gold for lower level PCs. I came across this idea while going out to the forest to collect things for the Food for Feast quest. It would be nice to obtain meat this way and also it would give Ranger PCs or anyone who likes to hunt a fun past time. I noticed some Falcons and thought how nice it would be to be a Ranger and hunt some deer with it. I encountered some Wolves and Bears out there already but they just drop leather hide.
My idea would be to add another caravan trader who you could sell furs and hides to via dialogue for a much higher value then selling it to a regular NPC. Adding a few new animals that drop specific furs or hides. Like wolf pelt, bear pelt, mink fur, deer hide (,worg hide?) and etc. The price the NPC gives for a specific hide will scale on it's difficulty to obtain. I seen how dangerous the forest can get at night and it would mean that brave hunters out there can have a chance to make some real gold. So during the day it can be all fun loving harmless animals (Maybe random bear or wolf here and there) that you can make small profit off of and then at night some nasty hostile creatures in which you can make a very nice sum (If you live!)

I (and my Ranger/SD PC) quite like this idea.

There's a craftsgoods merchant in one of the villages between Mt-Holme and Macedone that would be great for buying the pelts and such.

That's a good idea to place the vendor further away. It will put Oxen to use more for someone who wants to load up on goods to make a fair amount of cash. It will also add to the risk making it a fair way to earn money at earlier levels for some PCs.

Re: Hunting Grounds in the Silverleaf Forest
My woodsy mage would love to magic missile some food every now and then. Or make boots out of that bear that sent him to the Great Hall several times!
Depending on how much work it would be to add, some special crafting options like white-wolf pelts for cloaks of winter, etc, would be enjoyable.
I'm personally not keen on a full-blown CNR ... I've had a ranger look for weeks of playtime for raven feathers to make normal arrows (due to minimal resource drops) and a mage who needed to mix gem dust with cloth to get normal clothing (due to using the default CNR package)! Both on other worlds, of course.
But a dash of spice here and there ....
