Not Used: Asis Addiction

Just a quick thought ... I know the world had(still has) scripts to deal with alcohol addiction (the potions of addiction breaking can still be found, most notably from beholders)... I just think to promote the use of healers (both PC and NPC) and just getting general rest (using healing kits, bandages etc) that maybe potions of healing can be tied into the alcohol addiction scripts... maybe not the "normal green" potions (or even "normal" asis potions) .... but the Asis potion of Full Heal ((ApoFH) should get this treatment.. just to stop people server-wide downing ApoFHs at will ... drink too many and you may get addicted to their life-prolonging power ...

((Maybe include the Potion of Renewal too .. but I think at 4hr gaps and limited class use this already has enough restrictions))

I just think it would be good to promote general healing methods and "other" potions, thus meaning it would be even more worthwhile to carry a box of potions (and using them) then to simply chug a ApoFH and be done with it ... ... I'm not sure about anyone else but I know that I've downed an ApoFH at half health when in reality any combination of other potions would have been just as effective, and in some cases used an ApoFH when a healing kit would have topped me up, or just waiting around for the regen ring/ioun to do it's work .... ....

Any thoughts ?

It could be worse...drinking too many in too short a time could impart some of Asis' desire to protect life on you and dull your skill at inflicting harm to others (increasing negatives to attack rolls, increasing spell failure chance when casting offensive spells. etc.). Hmmm...

Just kidding. I know there are many that suck down more healing potion than they do air.

My opinion is that the asis potions are fine as is.

I myself can see both sides to this...on one hand i agree with dave..it seems fine. its just a game after all and people at high levels who solo need some way to keep healed.

Then there is the realistic rpg side to it. Iggy walks into the temple of asis....*my dear lady..id like 362 gallons of potion of full heal please." It gets a little beyond the *point of suspension of belief* at that point.

I myself almost rarely if ever even use potions of healing..i build my characters self sufficient so i dont have to. On the other hand though i rarely do the ultra mega stuff if ever.(mostly cause i dont know how to find em)
