Drow quartermaster

So I recently ran into a drow that would actually say something to me, and he appears to be a merchant of sorts, but all he says to me is something along the lines of 'Leave me alone or I'll kill you.' Not sure if you are supposed to be able to interact with him or if you need a special item, be speaking a particular language or what.
Anyone got any ideas on this?

I think he only sells things to you if you are also Drow.

Arianna's 1/2 drow and drow are naturally non-hostile towards her, so I thought the faction was the same. Can anyone confirm this?
