Demonic Destruction
This isnt so much a Dm event as it is an invitation to an adventure in the Dark Realm. Mainly because I want to participate in the fun myself.... but it would definitely involve me setting up special encounters and rewards.
I am looking at this Sunday sometime around 8pm eastern time. Who is interested?

Re: Demonic Destruction
Just to be clear, this was intended for epic level PCs. I might be around earlier on Sunday, and I might do some lower level stuff.... no promises, but if you have time sunday, check if I am on.

Re: Demonic Destruction
Some lowbie action is prepared in the Goblin Cave of the Northwest Road.
I have also prepared a mid-to-pre-epic level event:
A dwarven corpse is found riddled with arrows and his throat cut, on the path through the Valorian's Vale fields... while the projectiles have been removed by his assailant, the wounds show the telltale residue of drow sleep poison. In the breast of his tunic is found a letter, but some of the writing is smeared and smudged with still drying blood, though you can clearly make out the seal of the Forge Dwarf Clan
"Xust stxp the snaxe wxrsxpers from corrxxting the blaxe.... stoxe from forxemxster.... tracked them to Tarxxsha... prixst xerfomxng rituxl... no timx to loxe... hxlp!"
I am now also in the process of setting up the epic level event.

Re: Demonic Destruction
An awesome stroll through the dark realm for Crideas and Jay.. and after the numerous deaths I'm really really really happy that some "backup" showed up for the final confrontation and the big showdown...
Well done everyone .. !!!
In total, I learned some very valuable lessons in the denizens of the realm, in such that the mighty balors and darkfire reavers, arcane blackguards and epic necromancers all fall to the twin wraithblades of Jay Braysin.. ... ... yet the lowly little damned Blasted Bast**d Barbed Demons put up a really good fight and take forever to succumb... and lets just not start on the murderous Marilith's ... ...
A great night, well worth staying up until 06:30am to see through to completion.... ....
Thankye dave, and thankye to all who played tonight....

Re: Demonic Destruction
Gotta love those epic dodging barbies!
Too bad at the VERY end, Angar, Kaz and Alitze couldn't take down Hoxrana. VERY slowly whittled her down to badly wounded for just a brief second... and that moment was when her buddies decided to respawn!
If it wasn't for that respawn, we mighta pulled it off (all melee team, no hocus pocus mumbo jumbo!)

Re: Demonic Destruction
Well... you also probably woulda got it if Baelphegor and Jay were with ya
All in all it was an excellent night. Lauralia/Rupert and Kentleman2/Julia successfully stopped the High Murderer of Sorgath and his Old Black Dragon ally from corrupting the Ancient WrathBlade, and got themselves some powerful and unique loot in the process! The encounters were designed for a larger, higher-level group, and those two did it all on their own! Great Job, you two!
I dont think anyone actually cleared the goblin caves, sadly.
The Dark Realm was a wonderful success. Very tough, tons of extra epic traps. Some folks died, but it was by no means a frustration factory. Some incredible victories were gained against the odds. Everyone was polite, patient, and generous with thier party mates. Nobody was rude, or arrogant, or inconsiderate... which can be a major, major downer for other players and for me as DM.
That kind of good behavior and attitudes, being good to your fellow players is what makes these events fun for your DMs, and I want to thank you all for being awesome!

Re: Demonic Destruction
And thank you for some unexpected fun. I didn't think there'd be anything left by the time I logged in, but I was treated to the run of the gauntlet and the Nemesis! (I hate that guy!)
Yah, the Hoxrana is just too tough for three melee'ers to take down on our own. Regeneration is too high, as soon as the baddies respawned and our attention was turned, it regenerated all the damage, leaving us at square one. Fortunately, we made it out relatively unscathed (well, all were standing at the end, and what happens in the Dark Realm stays in the Dark Realm).
A special thanks again to Dave, for making sure that we all felt rewarded in the end.

Yeah, about that ...
... y'know ...
*looks down, moves around a bit of dirt with his sneaker toe*
... I must admit ...
... I was mezmerized by the sparkly vampires ...
*shakes head slowly, moves to dark corner, curls up and begins rocking back and forth, sobbing quietly*

Re: Demonic Destruction
Dear Dave Yelsey
DAM!! Thank you so much. I dont know how we missed the call to arms in the forums before this event, but i am SOOOO happy that we stumbled in early enough to be able to join in on the fun.
And, fun it was!!
So many times you find that the lower level players in ANY given server have been ignored, until they level up to a point where they are considered "useful" to the seasoned, more experienced players. One of the laundry list of things that I adore about Aenea is the fact that everyone is so often included, even though it takes more work to build lvl appropriate scenarios
so that everyone can participate.
Thank you Dave! We had SOOO much fun! And it was great what you did with the drow and the black dragons!! It was FABULOUS!! (we particularly liked the fact that the "factions" screwed up for us, so that the dragons and drow helped to eliminate themselves, lol).
And of course the treasure was great. We loved the opportunity to get some good equipment for a lil low levels. A fine time was had by all
I hope you get the energy up to do something like this again soon!
Lookin forward to it!

Re: Demonic Destruction
Have no fear, I will be running more DM events. I am not always the best at scheduling, and I dont always give out the amount or quality of loot that I did in that one, but to my knowledge, most folks end up feeling well-rewarded.
I have been kicking around various ideas based on feedback from folks in other threads. Its really mostly about inspiration/motivation and set-up time.
