Every so often, it needs to be put out there ...
when you check the posts column on the main forum page, I think it speaks volumes about Aenea that the highest post count is on the suggestions forum, at almost 6k (592x, if i remember correctly)!
Thank you, , for constructing and maintaining this wonderful world that we all play in, and thank you, players out there, who make the server a great place to be!
Huzzahs to you all!

Re: Aw hells, apparently the forums don't like to show the word "just" ...
It's not an issue with the forums. It's a text filter added a few months ago so that I'm not constantly reading that incredibly annoying phrase. Hope it doesn't offend anybody, but that particularly "I'm just..." phrase grates on my nerves for some reason (and has since it started popping up everywhere the last couple of years).
And it's the players that make this world worth building and running. Thanks for making me want to keep going.

heh! Pet peeve of mine too; maybe for different reasons. It limits action.
When folks ask for something and stick 'just' in front of the request, they seem to limit the response to only their view of an answer. Personally, I hope for as much and as best an answer as I can get. What kid goes around asking for Trick and just a Treat?
And when describing an action, using 'just' limits the motives and scope of what may actually be perceived by others (eg; Just wanted to let you know they care, when actually they wanted to let you know they love you).
Back to congrats on listening; a great and dying skill.

Personally, I use that phrase a lot.... never bothered me one iota. I hope it doesn't offend anyone, but I doubt I will be able to top using it.... so please don't be annoyed with me, it is a relfex, I am not using it to purposefully annoy anyone.

Just an excuse....
I use 'just' all the time too (it is Firefly Mal speak, developed from my life out West); only try to avoid it within the methodology I mentioned. And it generally only bothers me in the context of public prayer, as it sometimes seems to border on false piety in it's usage. So it is rather unlikely anyone 'round these parts will offend me anytime soon....

It's not the word "just" that grates on me (I use it all the time). It's that phrase "Just s aying" (without the g on the end and the space in the word), which I seem to being seeing and hearing constantly in various media (and by all manner of people), and it's only been the last couple of years that I've noticed it happening.

Ooooh, Manny, that was bad, very bad, bad in the way that Elhanan's rock puns are bad ...
To my ears, it's little different from the "So I did" that is rampant in these here parts, Hickville Anywhere USA ... it's pretty much like saying the same thing twice.

I think putting a filter on the forums to prevent the use of a commonly used (and not obscene or profane) phrase that annoys you is maybe a little much.... not quite as bad as telling people how to talk, but... uncomfortably close.

True, and it's kind of buggy anyway...daveyeisley wrote:I think putting a filter on the forums to prevent the use of a commonly used (and not obscene or profane) phrase that annoys you is maybe a little much.... not quite as bad as telling people how to talk, but... uncomfortably close.

Was the flood prevention thing added about that time as well? It doesn't bother me, I just don't remember it before ... have we had a problem with flooding?

I think the time restriction was increased to 30 seconds... was never that logn before. If can change it, I would recommend 10 seconds, myself.

I am old and it takes me 30 seconds to formulate and articulate a post anyway, so that works for me.

Re: Aw hells, apparently the forums don't like to show the word "just" ...
There had been an instance of mass spammage on the forum one day, which prompted me to add the small delay between posts. Took me a while to go through and delete all the spam posts, but I happened to log in a minute or so after the posts were made, so I was able to start deleting them right after so most folks never saw them.
