Nunchaku

First off, I just found a shop with a lot of very cool weapons. Awesome. Random question... nunchaku don't seem to be on the monk list from what I see in the item description. Do they still work as monk weapons (i.e. are they Flurry-able) here in Aenea?

In NWN, the only type of weapon that actually works with a monk's Flurry of Blows is the kama.

The nanchaku are a type of weapon added by CEP, so there isn't a lot of support for it via feats and class tie-ins.

It'd be possible to make a nunchaku model with kama as a base item.

Kinda like the war fans, eh? That'd be pretty cool - it just depends on if wants to invest the time ... personally, I love the war fans - my only complaint is that because they're based on the kama base item, they don't play well with spectra's aurashift powder ... as awesome as the fans are, I can live with that!

You could always hold the kama by the blades, and hit folks with the handles; painful, but possible....

Hmm... still tempted to do a monk werewolf with nunchaku anyway, if only for entertainment value.
Just out of curiosity, is there any chance of nunchaku being added to the monk weapon list (or added as a monk weapon via coding magic or whatnot), or are those hard coded and stuck that way?

I'm not sure if they could be added to the monk proficiency list. I know they can't be used like the kama (used with the monk attack rates).

Although I had a hard disk crash, I *think* I may still have a backup of a weapon override compilation I was working on.. and i had converted the nunchucku model over to a kama base item.. animations all worked fine and such. if wants them, I can pass them on to him.

It should be possible to the monk proficiency list. Just add the monk proficiency feat to the required feats in the baseitem 2da.

As long as weapons are being added to the Monk prof list, they could also use a small Piercing weapon (eg; Sai) to cover the needed hat trick of Dmg types.

Kama-base nunchaku... would that still be slashing damage?
Suddenly my mind is picturing the dagger-chucks Maxi gets in a couple of the Soul Calibur games. XD

Either way, that would be awesome. A little sad that I won't be able to make a nunchaku-weaponmaster due to the hardcoding for Weapon Focus against the CEP weapons, but usable monk nunchaku would be very fun to have. Doubly so as my eventual werewolf monk!
