Not Uses: Semi-CLasses
With the new semi-classes, i was thinking about the limitation of one semi-class per character.
Its a good limitation, as characters walking around with multiple semi-classes would be ungodly powerful.
One thought that struck me was such a character might be legitimate if they had done something
akin to "re-morting".
That is to say, a level 20 character who has also reached level 5 of a semi-class decided to
give up all their power and start over at level 2 or 3 (depending on sub-race etc). The new low level character would not retain anything from those previous levels (except the gear, which most of it they probably could no longer use until they level back up), but might gain a +2 to one ability, and maybe a +5 to one skill of their choice.
From this point, the character could level back up, and until level 20 could still only have one semi class...
however, after they pass level 20, they could now train in a second semi-class.
Upon achieving level 40, they might even be able to persue a third semi-class (maybe after remorting again).
The idea behind these suggestion is just to give players something to keep striving for even after high levels.
Currently once you reach level 40, there aint much to do. My suggestions are aimed at renewing the challenge for these characters and giving them some really nice perks and bonuses for sticking with it.

Funny, but that is similar to my line of thinking for my planned "reincarnation" option. It's something I was planning for after I get done with the item enchantment system.

After I get the PC item enchantment system at least 1/2 way done. I've got all the base items (things like masterwork armors and weapons, blank books, pure metal jewelry, etc.) made now...time to get scripting!Eric of Atrophy wrote:Ooh ... tell us more, tell us more!

An addon to this thread about reincarnating...
Making it to level 40 is long and tedious as it is... doing it twice is a daunting task...
Could there maybe be a small XP bonus for characters that have reincarnated, just to ease the process slightly? even if its just 5%
I hate to think of the nightmare of levelling to 40 as a demonspawn with 30% penalty, then reincarnating to do it all over again...
