My wife passed away 5/27/14

Hi all,

I have made some friends here, and many of you have been very nice about my diminished roleplaying tendencies.  I just wanted to let you folks know that although you may see me (in one of my guises in Clan Moross) online sometime soon, I'd rather not party up for a while.

The reason is that I lost my wife suddenly and unexpectedly on the morning of May 27, 2014.  We'd just left the local municipal rec center where we'd been working out with a trainer.  She had a "widow maker" heart attack (total blockage of the Lateral Anterior Decending artery that feeds the heart muscle) and died in the emergency room.  She was 51, and there were no warnings.

I am utterly desolate.  I have a few good friends here where I live who have supported me, and my wife's parents and family, but this is the toughest thing I have experienced in 59 years of life.

I know it is not much comfort, but if there is even a small thing I might do - name it.

Also saddened by your loss, Caldor. You spoke of her often in these past years, and your mutual commitment to your shared duties of family. May you find peace in your memories, and come to embrace them as you did her. Please be well.

Thank you, Eldon.  We took care of my mom until she passed January 19, 2013 (we'd had to put her in an assisted living facility from July 2012-on, as we could no longer take care of the ravages of her Parkinson's Disease).  My wife helped enormously during the more than four years my mom was living with us up to that point.

This is very, very hard.  I am glad I have friends like you.

I'm very sorry to hear this Caldor. I'm sure the Aenea community will support you in anything you need. Be that some personal breathing space, or a spawn of Orcs to blast some anger on... you will be in our thoughts during this most tragic time.

I know there's nothing I can say that will help how your feel, beyond that you have mine and my family's condolences.

Remember the great times you had together. Her memory lives on through what you and her family and friends share with the world.
